Ministry Of Health – Flu vaccine for expats soon

The Ministry of Health provided preventive health centers with limited quantity of seasonal influenza vaccine a few days ago, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting health sector officials.

The officials affirmed the ministry is waiting for the delivery of a bigger quantity of imported vaccine, which will be made available to the expatriates upon arrival. Sources from the health sector affirmed that the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) approved the ministry’s request to import seasonal flu vaccine at a cost of KD 395,000.

Sources said the ministry recently supplied each health district with 5,000 doses of influenza vaccine to ensure the citizens obtain the vaccine during their booked appointments.

The vaccination campaign was launched in the middle of last month and the preventive health centers catered to a large number of citizens during the first days when the ministry provided a huge quantity of vaccine to the centers.

Hawally Health District has so far vaccinated 20,000 individuals, sources revealed. On the date of vaccination for expatriates, sources pointed out this depends on the date of the arrival of the additional doses which the ministry ordered earlier.
