What is IATF?

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is a task force organized by the Government of the Philippines to respond to affairs concerning emerging infectious diseases in the country. Amnesty Program for Illegal OFW Residents in Kuwait   Undocumented OFWs in Kuwait will have the opportunity to go back home to the Philippines via amnesty program at the Philippine embassy. Kuwait’s Government offers Amnesty Program for Filipinos who are working abroad. The Amnesty program aims to help Filipinos who are undocumented and Filipinos who stayed for so long. This had occurred after they announced the suspension of deploying Filipinos to Kuwait through DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment). Many OFWs who were either undocumented or had extended their stay went to the Embassy and applied for this program to go home legally. They can go home without needing to pay and will not be penalized. The highest-ever tally was recorded on September 16, 2021, at 21,181 cases. The uncertainty amid rising COVID cases sent Philippine stocks index tumbling on Friday even as the peso weakened. Cebu Pacific, the country’s biggest airline, has cancelled more domestic flights from Saturday to Monday (January 8-10). In its latest case bulletin, the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) said it recorded a 40% positivity rate from the 70,049 tests conducted. The new infections raised the country’s COVID numbers to 2.9 million cases — of which 77,369 are active cases.
