MOI has no intention to extend residency of expats, iiQ8

Kuwait City, 18th August, 2020:

The Ministry of Interior, Kuwait has no intention to extend residency of expats visas after 31st August, 2020. Earlier the ministry had granted automatic renewal of residences of all kinds due to the coronavirus crisis as the airports were shut.

The Ministerial Resolution No. 366/455 of 2020 states that about 405,000 expats can automatically renew their residency until the end of this month.




To take advantage of the deadline, they must visit the Ministry of Interior website to renew the residency before the end of this month.

Otherwise, they will be considered violators and will enter into legal problems and pay fines.

VISIT VISAS:

There are about 100,000 people who entered the country on visit visa on family, tourist or commercial.

They are supposed to leave the country at the end of this month, and there is no intention to give them a grace period to extend their stay, whoever violates restriction will be put on their name, and they will not be allowed to enter the country again.

Fines that accumulate will be charged to the sponsor or the individual.
