MoH to study proposal on new preventative measures for arrivals to Kuwait

A representative from Kuwait Airways announced that the Minister of Health Dr. Basel Al-Sabah expressed his full cooperation and understanding of the proposal submitted by Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways, regarding the health measures for passengers coming to Kuwait, Al Rai daily reported.

The representative said that the Minister also confirmed that the proposal will be studied from all sides by the technical staff at the Ministry of Health (MoH) in order to be fully reassured of the effectiveness of the proposed measures and their suitability to be introduced to be part of the health instructions and requirements approved by the health authorities in the country.

Kuwait Airways affirmed its full confidence in the technical considerations of the Ministry of Health, which will certainly be in to the interest of the homeland and the citizens, and offered sincere thanks and appreciation for the sincere efforts made by the MoH, headed by the Minister, and all the medical and administrative staff, appreciating their acceptance of the proposals put forward in order to develop efforts to combat the coronavirus.

Under the proposal, passengers arriving in Kuwait may no longer have to undergo necessary health checks, including a PCR test and quarantine, at a transit destination and could instead complete the measures upon arrival. Travelers will be allowed to land in Kuwait directly from their city of departure at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 4.

The move will permit flights to operate on a 24 hour basis, increasing the expected revenue of the state carrier and other government sectors, easing the process for airlines to slowly reintroduce destinations from where flights had earlier been suspended from due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
