Conditions, Prices for Kuwaitis, Expats performing Umrah, iiQ8 The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs issued a circular containing the conditions organizing the Umrah (minor pilgrimage) during the current exceptional circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The most prominent among the conditions is the need for quarantine in Saudi Arabia for a period of three days, reports Al-Rai daily. The ministry’s circular neglected to highlight the mechanism for the return of pilgrims, and whether they will be subject to quarantine, how long the quarantine period will be for, and if they need to be tested and obtain a PCR scan certificate before they return. Kuwait City, 11th November, 2020: Expats can enter Kuwait as long as their residence is valid General Administration of Residency Affairs confirmed that expats who have valid residence have the right to enter Kuwait as per the health requirements laid down by the Ministry of Interior. The General Residency affairs department refuted the rumors which are going around that those expats who are outside Kuwait if they do not enter by 31st Dec will not be allowed to enter is totally false. There is nothing new in the law regarding absence in the country. Those who are outside Kuwait can renew their residence permit online and there is no need for a review from the residency affairs department. The officials affirmed the ministry is waiting for the delivery of a bigger quantity of imported vaccine, which will be made available to the expatriates upon arrival. Sources from the health sector affirmed that the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) approved the ministry’s request to import seasonal flu vaccine at a cost of KD 395,000. Sources said the ministry recently supplied each health district with 5,000 doses of influenza vaccine to ensure the citizens obtain the vaccine during their booked appointments. Kuwait City, 4th November 2020: Lockdowns and curfews to return for 2 weeks if infections increases, iiQ8 During recent meeting the cabinet reviewed the plans presented by Minister of Health Dr. Basel Al Sabah that if there has been increase in infection cases between 6 to 10 weeks, the minister recommended implementation of partial curfew from 9 pm to 4 am for period of two weeks with suspension of commercial flights from and to Kuwait. In addition to shutting down malls to prevent gatherings and closing restaurants for dining, only allowing home delivery of food. He stated from 26th Jun 2020 the cases are in high numbers which coincided with lifting of total ban and easing of precautionary measures. There has been a decrease in 40% of infection during the total ban period which was a positive sign.
