The latest decisions announced by the Government of State of Kuwait are enclosed for kind reference. It may be noted that the Government of State of Kuwait has consistently emphasized on the need to follow all the precautionary measures and guidelines issued by the concerned authorities. Kuwait City, 5th January 2022: Kuwait: Solution looms in to dilemma of expats above 60 Expats above 60 with no university degrees have been banned from renewing work permit. In what could bring about a solution to a months-long crisis involving expatriates above 60 in Kuwait, the newly appointed Justice Minister Jamal Al Jalwai will hold talks this week with the agencies concerned to devise the “best mechanism” to address the problem, a local newspaper has reported. A disputed ban on renewing work permits for this category of expatriates who hold no university degree has been in effect in Kuwait for several months now, spelling trouble for them and their families. In an attempt to resolve the standoff, Al Jalwai will meet with representatives of manpower authorities and the Cabinet legislation department, Al Rai newspaper said, quoting what it termed as well-informed sources. “The minister seems serious to resolve this long-outstanding file,” the sources said.…

Kuwait City, 30th December 2021: Kuwait Driving License can Renewal Online, but can not Print License The Traffic department restarted online service for renewing driving license for expats after a brief pause, reports Al Rai. The request for renewal is available for everyone through MOI website, but whoever violates the conditions will not be able to print the license from automated devices which are placed at various commercial complexes in Kuwait. Some expats who don’t meet conditions mentioned in the traffic department website, completed their process on the website, paid fees and renewed their drivers license. When they went to print on the machines placed in commercial complexes they were taken by surprise as the machines did not issue the driving license. It gave them a message to visit the traffic department and review where generally it is verified against the data of the driving license holder. Kuwait City, 26th December 2021: Kuwait municipality mulls increasing fees by 1400%, iiQ8 info #Kuwait to increase government service fees on expats by a whopping 500% Some municipality fees in Kuwait could soon increase by 1,400 per cent as Kuwait Municipality is proposing a plan to hike payment for some services, local media reported. According to the proposal, the fees for renewing applications for opening canteens and kiosks inside government departments will shoot up from KD20 to KD300, an increase of 1,400 per cent. The fees for issuing requests for merging or separating plots will be increased from KD10 to KD40 for each plot resulting from merging or separating. A fee of KD80 has been introduced for renewing and amending these requests. KD100 fees have been introduced for requests to add an area of state property for investment and commercial plots, and KD200 for renewal and modification.
