*జెండా*
ఈ ఆలయ గోపురం పైన ఉండే జెండాకు కూడా ప్రత్యేకత ఉంది. మామూలుగా ఏ గుడికి కట్టిన జెండా అయినా సరే.. గాలి ఎటువైపు ఉంటే అటువైపే ఊగుతుంది. కానీ.. ఇక్కడి జెండా మాత్రం గాలి వస్తున్న వైపు కాకుండా.. వ్యతిరేక దిశలో ఊగుతుంది.
*చక్రం*
పూరీ జగన్నాథ్ ఆలయం చాలా ఎత్తులో ఉంటుందని తెలిసిందే. ఆ గోపురం పైన ఓ సుదర్శన చక్రం ఉంటుంది. మీరు పూరీలో ఎక్కడ ఉండి అయినా సరే.. ఆ సుదర్శన చక్రాన్ని చూస్తే.. అది మీ వైపే తిరిగినట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది. అది ఆ చక్రం ప్రత్యేకత.
*అలలు*
సాధారణంగా అన్ని చోట్ల వీచే గాలి సముద్రం నుంచి భూమి వైపునకు ఉంటుంది. పగటి పూట అలా వీస్తుంది. సాయంత్రం పూట భూమి వైపు నుంచి సముద్రం వైపునకు వీస్తుంది. కానీ.. పూరీలో మాత్రం అంతా రివర్స్. దానికి విభిన్నంగా గాలి వీస్తుంది.

* Flag *

*గోపురం నీడ*
జగన్నాథ ఆలయం ప్రధాన ద్వారం గోపురం నీడ ఎవ్వరికీ కనిపించదు. సూర్యుడు వచ్చినా కూడా అది కనిపించదు. పగలు అయినా.. సాయంత్రం అయినా ఏ సమయంలో కూడా ఆ గోపురం నీడ మాత్రం కనిపించదు. దీని నిర్మాణం అలా ఉంటుందా? లేక దేవుడి మహిమ వల్ల ప్రధాన ద్వారం గోపురం నీడ కనిపించదా? అనేది మాత్రం అంతు చిక్కడం లేదు.
* Birds *
Birds do not fly over the Jagannath Temple. Birds do not go up to the temple. Nobody knows why the birds do not fly there. Many people have studied this but can not find it.
* Gopuram shadow *

*అలల శబ్దం*
సింహద్వారం నుంచి ఆలయంలోకి ప్రవేశించే సమయంలో ఒక అడుగు గుడి లోపలికి పెట్టగానే.. సముద్రంలో నుంచి వచ్చే శబ్దం వినిపించదు. కానీ.. అడుగు బయటపెట్టగానే అలల శబ్దం వినిపిస్తుంది
*రథ యాత్ర*
పూరీ జగన్నాథ్ ఆలయంలో అతి ముఖ్యమైంది ఇదే. పూరీ రథ యాత్ర. ఈ రథ యాత్రలో రెండు రథాలు ఉంటాయి. శ్రీమందిరం, గుండిజా ఆలయానికి మధ్యలో ప్రవహిస్తున్న నదిని దాటి వెళ్లాలి. అందుకే రెండు రథాలను ఉపయోగిస్తారు. మొదటి రథం నది ఇవతలి ఒడ్డు వరకు తీసుకెళ్తుంది. అక్కడ మూడు చెక్క పడవల్లో దేవతలు నది దాటుతారు. అక్కడి నుంచి మరో రథంలో దేవుళ్లను గుండిజా ఆలయానికి తీసుకెళతారు.

* Gundija Temple *

Puri offers 56 types of Prasadam to Jagannath. Those offerings also have a unique history. According to the temple tradition .. they are cooked in clay pots. There will be no smell in those offerings before offering to God. There is also no taste but .. after being offered to God those offerings will crumble. Prasads are very sweet.

పూరీ జగన్నాథుడికి 56 రకాల ప్రసాదాలు సమర్పిస్తారు. ఆ ప్రసాదాలకు కూడా విశిష్ట చరిత్ర ఉంది. ఆలయ సంప్రదాయం ప్రకారం.. వాటిని మట్టి కుండల్లో వండుతారు. దేవుడికి సమర్పించడానికి ముందు ఆ ప్రసాదాల్లో ఎటువంటి వాసన ఉండదు. రుచి కూడా ఉండదు కానీ.. దేవుడికి సమర్పించిన తర్వాత ఆ ప్రసాదాలు ఘుమఘుమలాడుతాయి. ఎంతో మధురంగా ఉంటాయి ప్రసాదాలు.
