Philippine Embassy in Q8 – Passport Extension, Releasing 23 to 30 Aug, iiQ8

PASSPORT EXTENSION AND RELEASING-ONLY OPERATIONS ON 23-30 AUGUST 2020

The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait announces to the public that it is suspending all its non-passport services such as authentication and civil registration (Report of Birth, Report of Marriage) from 23 to 30 August 2020, to give way to passport extension and releasing-only operations for Filipinos whose residence visas or iqama will expire on 31 August 2020.

The Embassy will extend the passport validity of applicants with confirmed appointments, on the condition that they must return to the Embassy for their passport renewal at a later date. This is in accordance with the policy of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on passport extension, which prevents extending the validity of old passports without applying for passport renewal.

From 23 to 30 August 2020, the step-by-step process of passport extension is as follows:

  1. Before their scheduled passport appointment, applicants MUST ANSWER IN ADVANCE THE PASSPORT APPLICATION FORM, which may be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/KuwaitPEConsularServices.
  2. On the date and time of their appointment* at the Embassy, applicants MUST BRING THE ANSWERED PASSPORT APPLICATION FORM, together with copies of the current passport and Civil ID. See the complete list of requirements here: http://bit.ly/KuwaitPEConsularServices.
  3. Applicants MUST PAY KD 26 as application fee for passport renewal and extension.
  4. Applicants will then wait for an advisory on the Embassy’s Facebook page and Twitter account ON WHEN THEY WILL RETURN TO THE EMBASSY TO COMPLETE THE FINAL STEP IN THEIR APPLICATION: the encoding/enrollment of their renewal applications.

* The list of passport applicants with confirmed appointments will be released on the Embassy’s official Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/PHinKuwait. WALK-IN PASSPORT APPLICATIONS ARE STILL NOT ALLOWED.

Passport releasing will continue from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. from Sundays to Thursdays. Securing an appointment for passport releasing is not required.

Those who secured their non-passport appointment via Setmore for 23-27 August 2020 are advised to wait for the Embassy’s advisory on social media on when their appointments will be rescheduled.

The Embassy warns those who will apply for passport extension for overseas travel (except for the Philippines) that they may be barred entry to their countries of destination. Many countries around the world do not recognize extended passports.

The Embassy requests for the public’s understanding for requiring them to come back to the Embassy to finish their passport renewal application. Considering the Embassy’s limited workforce due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shortening the application process to just passport extension will allow the Embassy to accommodate thousands of Filipinos whose visas or iqama will expire on August 31.

Magpapatuloy ang passport releasing mula 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. mula Linggo hanggang Huwebes.
