The Embassy of India, Kuwait will be closed on Thursday, 20th September, 2018 on account of Muharram 2018. Earlier it was announced that the holiday will be on Friday. However the embassy informed that Thursday will be the holiday.

Muharram 2018 will mark the start of New Islamic Year 1440 Hijri. The expected Gregorian Date on 1st Muharram 1440 is 11th September, 2018 or 12th September, 2018 depending on your location. It is one of the four sacred months in the Islamic calendar. Muharram in its literal sense means “forbidden”. Similar to the other sacred months, waging war during this month is forbidden.

Kuwait Visit visa only for one month 14 days extension possible with extra fee

All types of visit visas are valid for only one month instead of three months.

However the Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Major General Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf yesterday issued another directives to the directors of all departments of Residency Affairs for the renewal of visit visas for expatriates who enter the country on various types of visit visas, for a maximum of two weeks under any humanitarian and medical reasons. They have to pay the relevant fees for the renewal.

Major General Sheikh Faisal told about strict instructions from the Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior ret. Lieutenant General Khalid Al-Jarrah and the Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham to apply the law on everyone without exception and to iron out the obstacles facing visitors to all Residency Affairs departments.
