Nomination for ICCR Annapurna Certificate 2022

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has instituted an ‘Annapurna Certificate’ to be awarded every year with the twin objectives of providing easy access and dependable services to everyone in search of authentic Indian cuisine abroad and recognizing restaurants abroad who have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of Indian cuisine,

2. Nominations for the Annapurna Certificate 2022 are now open. Indian restaurants or restaurant promoting Indian cuisine in Kuwait, who wish to participate are invited to submit their applications to the Embassy of India in Kuwait, so they can be conveyed further to ICCR. Guidelines along with proforma seeking details for this purpose are appended below.

3. Please send the duly completed application form in original indicating “ICCR Annapurna Certificate 2022” latest by 29th July 2022 to the following:

Guidelines for ‘Annapurna Certificate’

Objective :
(a) To provide easy access and dependable services to everyone in search of authentic Indian cuisine abroad.

(b) To recognise Restaurants abroad who have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of Indian Cuisine.

General Terms and conditions:

(i.) There shall be one Certificate for the winner. In case of more than one winner, each will be issued a separate certificate. Along with the Certificate, the winner will also be given a Plaque.

(ii.) Restaurants operating abroad shall be eligible for the Certificate. The restaurants should have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of authentic Indian Cuisine, among local community members.

(iii.) The restaurant should have been in operation for at least two years.

(iv.) The Competition is open to all Indian restaurants abroad (fine dining or all day dining) regardless of nationality, race, creed or sex of the owner. An association or organization shall not be eligible for participation.

(v.) The restaurant must follow a high level of compliance with the food hygiene and safety norms and local rules and regulations.

(vi.) Eligible Restaurants shall submit their application in the duly filled prescribed form to the Indian Mission/Post within the time limit prescribed for the purpose. Indian Missions abroad after due scrutiny and evaluation of the information provided by the applicant restaurants will forward the best applications to ICCR by the prescribed last date.

(vii.) The final selection for the Certificate shall be made by a Jury to be appointed by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations for this purpose.

(viii.) However, if in the opinion of competent authority of ICCR, a prior scrutiny of the applications received is required, a scrutinizing committee to be appointed by ICCR shall review the applications and submit scrutinized applications for consideration of Jury.

(ix.) The Certificate shall be given on an annual basis. The validity of the Certificate shall be for life time unless reviewed by the Jury in consideration of circumstance leading to such a review.
