Kuwait City, 10th November 2020: All Expats on expired visas must leave Kuwait before 30th November, iiQ8 Ministry Of Interior- All Expats On Visit Visa By 30th November, 2020. The Ministry Of Interior stated that all those who entered Kuwait on visit visas " all types of visit visas" & have expired should exit Kuwait before 30 November, also residence permits holders (of all types) whose residency has ended & who have temporary residency for a period of "3 months". ◾️ All sponsors & employers are requested to amend the status of their sponsored persons & complete renewing residence through MOI website or by visiting the residence affairs department. ◾️ All on expired visit visas are requested to begin their travel procedures & leave the country before the deadline expires on 30th November, 2020. ◾️ All those who stay beyond will be treated as violators of the law & will be deported & they will not be allowed …

Kuwait City, 4th November 2020: Lockdowns and curfews to return for 2 weeks if infections increases, iiQ8 During recent meeting the cabinet reviewed the plans presented by Minister of Health Dr. Basel Al Sabah that if there has been increase in infection cases between 6 to 10 weeks, the minister recommended implementation of partial curfew from 9 pm to 4 am for period of two weeks with suspension of commercial flights from and to Kuwait. In addition to shutting down malls to prevent gatherings and closing restaurants for dining, only allowing home delivery of food. He stated from 26th Jun 2020 the cases are in high numbers which coincided with lifting of total ban and easing of precautionary measures. There has been a decrease in 40% of infection during the total ban period which was a positive sign. Expelling expatriates may not be the answer to Kuwait’s deep economic malaise October 31, 2020 Over the past 15 years the population of Kuwait has more than doubled from 2.2 million in 2005 to 4.8 million at the start of 2020. During this period, the number of citizens grew by 63 percent, from 860,000 to 1.4 million, while expatriates surged by 162 percent, from 1.3 million to 3.4 million. The skewed population growth is certainly a cause for concern to the state, but is expelling expatriates the answer? On 20 October, in its one-day supplementary fifth session for the 15th legislative term, the parliament passed a series of laws, including one on reducing the number of expatriates in the country. Expatriates, who currently form an overwhelming 70 percent of Kuwait’s total population of 4.8 million, are understandably concerned.
