Committee proposal referred to national assembly for approval
#Kuwait committee passes proposal to extend residency period for #expats to 5 years
#Expats in #Kuwait now have to renew their residency visa every two-three years, depending on whether they are working in the private or public sector.
However, expats who have their residency renewal application rejected must leave the country.
MP Saadoun Hammad, Chairman of the committee, confirmed that the members have approved the proposal, which will now be referred to the parliament for voting.

Laborers to stop afternoon working in open areas starting from June
To prohibit laborers from working in open areas during noon from 11:00 AM till 4:00 PM starting from June in Kuwait.
This decision will force business owners to guarantee the health and safety of all workers at the work fields, and will oblige them to abide by the international work regulations, and its organizing subsidiary laws, he said.
Any violations will result in financial fines ranging between 100 to 200 KD per worker, paid by the business owners.
