Youssef Al-Fawzan, addressed a letter to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health regarding the review of health requirements at Kuwait Airport, in which he stated that, “ During the meeting of executive committee for commercial aviation re-operation on November 9th, 2020 the representative of the Ministry of Health stated that if there are enough number for staff to register and organize, there is no objection from the Ministry of Health to restart the operations of airport for 24 hrs. The officials affirmed the ministry is waiting for the delivery of a bigger quantity of imported vaccine, which will be made available to the expatriates upon arrival. Sources from the health sector affirmed that the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) approved the ministry’s request to import seasonal flu vaccine at a cost of KD 395,000. Sources said the ministry recently supplied each health district with 5,000 doses of influenza vaccine to ensure the citizens obtain the vaccine during their booked appointments. Kuwait City, 24th October 2020: Plan to deport 70% of expats, iiQ8, Kuwait HRDC The Human Resources Development Committee held a meeting to review and determine the National Assembly’s decision to refer the demographic regulation law to the Legislative Committee to study the drafting of the articles of the law after its amendment. The government sources confirmed its ambitious plan aimed to deport 70% of expat workers from Kuwait. The sources reaffirmed the government’s intention to end 160,000 jobs in the private sector and deport marginal laborers and illiterate expats. The Assembly unanimously approved the Demographic Imbalance Bill as all 53 MPs present at the session voted in favor. Kuwait City, 29th September, 2020: Kuwait Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad passed away at 91, the Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan, Sheikh Ali Al Jarrah Al Sabah, announced on Kuwait TV today. Sheikh Sabah ruled Kuwait since 2006 and steered its foreign policy for more than 50 years. His designated successor is his brother, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah. "With the utmost sadness and grief for the Kuwaiti people, the Islamic and Arab world and people of friendly nations, the Emiri Diwan mourns the death of Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the emir of Kuwait," his office said.
