Kuwait City, 4th March 2021: Curfew for 1 Month in Q8 from 7th March, iiQ8 Kuwait Imposes Partial Curfew From Sunday, 7th March Kuwait Cabinet decided Thursday to impose a 12-hour curfew to due non-compliance with health instructions, the curfew would be imposed from 5:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. starting from Sunday, March 7 for a period of one month. It will be allowed to go to the mosques during partial curfew hours but by walk only. Allowing restaurants, societies, pharmacies, and parallel markets to fulfill delivery orders during curfew. Visa violators: Visa violations in Kuwait have hit a new record, with around 180,000 expats in the country being without valid residency permits, Al Rai reported. A 38 per cent spike occurred since August where the total number of visa violators was around 130,000. Grace period: The Ministry of Interior initiated its first grace period at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March and was supposed to end in May. The Kuwaiti government has kept six gold companies under close scrutiny on suspicion of money laundering, after their businesses ballooned in the last three years, local media reported. Official sources told Al Rai newspaper that the Trade Ministry, during its audit of activities, discovered that there were gold companies that recorded a rapid financial rise despite their recent emergence in the sector. The sources pointed out that compared to the traditional expansion in the gold market, the six companies have witnessed a large and illogical jump since their establishment, even in the number of its branches compared to the developments of similar companies. The sources explained the ministry has opened the books of suspected gold companies, in an effort to ascertain whether they are exploiting their activ…
