Kuwait City, 26th August, 2020: The General Director of the Public Authority for Manpower, Ahmed Al-Mousa, issued an circular to labor departments in the employment affairs sector to issue a work permit to those who reached the age of 59 and 60 for a period of only one year until the date of the application of ban from 1st January, 2021. The circular stated that: When a work permit is issued for those under 59 years of age, it should be taken into consideration that they do not exceed the age of sixty, in compliance with the provisions of the aforementioned Resolution No. 520/2020 amending Administrative Resolution 552 of 2018 regarding the issuance of a list of rules and procedures for granting work permission and its amendments. 97,612 expats above 60 years of age will not be able to renew their residence Kuwait City, 25th August, 2020: Statistics issued by the Public Authority for Civil Information show there are 97,612 expatiates who have reached the age of 60 and above and renewal of their residence as of permits will not be possible because they hold only higher secondary certificates, lower education or no education at all, reports Al-Seyassah daily. This coincides with the law which is expected to be enforced from Jan 1, 2021. The statistics also show there are 15,502 expatriate who are 60 years and above have university degrees. It also shows the total number of bedoun who hold Diploma Certificate is 99,720 and those holding higher secondary certificate are 279,045 person. Decision on lifting ban on 32 countries next week, iiQ8 Kuwait City, 24th August, 2020: The cabinet meeting the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Tarek Al-Mazram, confirmed 🇰🇼 Decision on lifting ban on 32 countries next week The head of the Government Communication Center, the official spokesperson for the government, Tariq Al-Muzrem, said that the decision to open Kuwait Airport for commercial flights is based on the assessment of the health authorities in Kuwait. He stated that the government follows up and takes decisions related to home and institutional quarantine with the health authorities, as those decisions are made by them. He further stated that that the decision on lifting ban on 32 countries will be decided next week after reviewing the status.
