Head of UI/UX Design

The Head of Design will report directly to the Digital Director, having overall responsibility for Design across the entire Consumer group – managing design across all digital touchpoints, including website, mobile applications, store applications, digital kiosks, digital menu boards etc. This individual will be fully empowered to drive design decisions as part of our digital transformation journey, whilst developing & leading the Digital team.

It is expected the individual will be a key strategic figure in the on-going digital transformation, ensuring we deliver best-in-class digital solutions across the Retail group. The individual will lead the newly formed ‘Design Team’ comprising of designers & researchers and will be expected to work alongside the various Product Owners to lead and execute the design of all customer facing touchpoints. The Design team is in a nascent stage with one internal resource, and six external resources and it is expected the team will grow to ten resources (internal / external).

Design Team will assume responsibility for all areas of design including wireframe design of the touchpoint (e.g. Website), customer persona creation, customer journey end-to-end mapping, style guide creation and all related user experience / user interface elements.
It is expected that best-in-class customer-centric solutions are built, using internal data sources (e.g. Consumer Data Platform) and external data sources (e.g. Focus groups).

The Head of Design will ensure projects are designed to deliver a best-in-class omni channel customer journey, focussing on design consistency across all touchpoints. It is expected that projects are delivered on-time, on-budget and meeting / exceeding expectations – most crucially the measure will be on delivering calculable business value per project initiative. It is expected that the individual will propose modern solutions ensuring design is ahead of competition and considered world leading.

This individual will have excellent design skills, good communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a passion for Retail. Strong presentation skills are required, as well as the confidence to work with multiple stakeholders from business, Digital & IT teams, external vendors, and delivery partners. It is expected that the individual is a keen follower of modern design trends.

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Lead Design team, Alghanim Industries resources & external partner resources.
Assume overall responsibility for all Digital Design initiatives across the Retail group, owning design across the entire customer journey and all touch points, from new customer facing mobile applications, websites to in-store point of sale and kiosk.
Participate as leader in the on-going digital transformation.
Conducting meetings and presentations to share project updates.
Staying up-to-date on the latest design trends.
Managing competing resources and priorities.
Support with sprint planning in order to deliver approved backlog of change.

Candidate Requirements

University degree, ideally from a creative design discipline.
8 years+ experience working within Design, specifically ecommerce design.
Ability to deliver world class design solutions across all consumer facing touchpoints in an omni channel retail environment.
Ability to effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to understand and communicate complex concepts and resolve complex problems.
Experience of facilitating & running workshops (business, Digital & IT facing).
Project management experience is preferable.
Experience of digital platforms, ideally Microservices

Finance Manager – Central Services

Job Summary

The job holder will support the Group Controller and/or Finance Director in managing the Central Finance and Financial Reporting & Analysis Function for the Central Functions; this will be achieved by directing, supervising and coordinating team activity within the financial control function.  This role combines both management/leadership and a hands-on work output.

 

The role of the function is to support the Group in preparation of budgets, forecasting financials, perform meaningful analysis of financials, and assist operations in defining meaning KPIs for monitoring and improving performance and supporting business growth initiatives

Job Responsibilities

  •  Partner with business leaders ultimately supporting the achievement of financial business performance
    •    Monitor and interpret financial performance, providing regular analysis and expert guidance to executives offering insight and recommendations to enhance business performance.
    •    Run Group level consolidation of financial and operating results on monthly basis.
    •    Prepare, analyze and review monthly operating reports and publish for the executive management.
    •    Provide accurate information to executive management on a timely basis on key success factors of the business.
    •    Lead the annual budgeting & quarterly forecasting exercise by integrating with key business stakeholders across functions.
    •    Ensure that strategic plan, business plan and quarterly reviews are developed and submitted for corporate management review on a timely basis.
    •    Play an important role in addressing major strategic issues that have a long-term impact through efficient budgeting & forecasting mechanisms.
    •    Review current systems, make recommendations for systems enhancement and participate in implementation of new systems.
    •    Continuous monitoring of central functions cost and cost allocations/charge outs to the business units on monthly basis.
    •    Review capital expenditure models prepared by the business units and FE function and manage administrative process of seeking internal approvals etc.
    •    Participate in evaluating new business opportunities, expansion etc. by building models
    •    Direct and co-ordinate all activities of the financial control function
    •    Lead, coach and develop a team of financial analysts.

Candidate Requirements

  • Professionally Qualified – CA/CPA/CMA/MBA or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years of post-qualification professional experience within finance, with at least 1 year as a Finance Manager in a multinational environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial and management accounting concepts coupled with excellent financial analytical capability.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills with the gravitas and presence to interact effectively with President level stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage delivery of department through the staff in a timely fashion.
  • Strong talent development skills with the proven ability to coach and mentor diverse talent
  • Ability to influence and articulate point of view
  • Exposed to ERP and business intelligence systems.
  • Experience of Financial consolidation reporting tools e.g. Hyperion and/ or Tagetik.
