COVID-19 drug Avigan will be received next week from Japan to Kuwait Saturday 6th June, 2020 : The first shipment of Japanese medicine (Avigan) will arrive in the country next week, after its positive results in clinical trials conducted by many countries to treat coronavirus, said Kuwait's Health Ministry Friday. In a statement to KUNA, the Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Medicines and Medical Equipment Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Bader, affirmed that the first shipment of the drug comes within the emergency response and humanitarian purposes and does not carry a commercial value from the Japanese government. The medicine's use will be in accordance with the guidelines prepared by Japan and according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the regulations followed in Kuwait, Al-Bader added. According to informed sources, the relevant report will be presented first to the Cabinet for deliberation and approval and then referred to the National Assembly as a matter of urgency. Compliance with health instructions way to normal life KUWAIT, May 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Minister of Health Dr. Sheikh Bassel Al-Sabah gave details of a five-phase plan for a gradual return to normal life, brought to a standstill by the novel coronavirus, starting with easing of curfew but locking down virus-hit areas. Addressing an online news conference, Sheikh Bassel said the phases would begin on Sunday, May 31, and each would last for three weeks. He said health authorities would give the go-ahead to move to the 2nd phase if the assessment of the first phase was positive.
