Kuwait City, 16th August 2023: Kuwait Detected EG.5 COVID Virus Variant Ministry of Health, Kuwait released press note on 15th August 2023 (Tuesday) as below Press release | Monitoring the EG.5 mutant, which is one of the coronavirus mutants. ▪️ The appearance of such mutants is expected and not cause for concern. ▪️ The need not to mix with others in the event of any symptoms or signs of respiratory infection In a statement, the ministry noted that the "expected" detection was not "alarming", as the mutant bug was spotted in around 50 countries. The country's epidemiological indicators show stability, noted the statement, renewing the call to adhere to prevention guidelines.
