Kuwait City, 4th February 2021: No Entry to Kuwait for Expats for two weeks, iiQ8 The head of the Government Communication Center and the official spokesperson for the government, Tariq Al-Muzrim announced that the Council of Ministers decided that while the airport will not close, expats will not be permitted entry to Kuwait for 2 (Two) weeks, starting next Sunday, Al Qabas daily reported. The sources confirmed to the daily that a recommendation was adopted to impose an institutional quarantine for a week on those arrivals to Kuwait, provided that the decision will be effective later this month. Aside from halting work in clubs, salons, and resorts, stopping all celebration activities as of next week, Al-Muzrim said in a press conference the Council of Ministers decided to close all commercial activities from 8:00 PM till 5:00 AM. It also decided to close commercial malls and restaurants from 8 pm starting next week, except for restaurant delivery services. …

Expats to return back to Kuwait in 3 Stages, iiQ8 KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: As per the state needs, priority will be given to those expats who will be allowed to return back on 3 stages within the framework to organize arrival of those with valid residency so that the airport does not crowd with huge numbers of expats who wish to return from various countries. The sources said that the first phase will include doctors, nurses, judges, members of the public prosecution office and teachers, the collection of data from various ministries is underway in order to prepare to receive them. The traveler has the right to request a refund of their purchased tickets, hotel reservations ...... The Director-General for Civil Aviation issued a circular saying that passengers have all rights to get a full refund for bookings cancelled due to the closure of Kuwait International Airport as part of the lockdown from 14th March till 31st July 2020. The circular was issued to all airlines, travel and tourism agencies operating from Kuwait. In a circular, GDCA said that the traveller has the right to request a refund of their purchases including travel tickets, hotel reservations and other tourist services that were cancelled from 14th March to 31st July regardless of the condition of the reservation, whether refundable or non-refundable, without any deduction.
