Mass vaccination drive underway to vaccinate workers in food and beverage sector
Kuwait City: Although on Monday Kuwait’s Cabinet of Ministers announced that restaurants and cafes will remain closed for indoor dining until further notice, it is likely that they will open their doors again after the five-day Eid Al Fitr holiday, local media reported.

While indoor dining remains banned, the partial curfew is set to be lifted and cinemas are to open – only for those who are vaccinated – on the first day of Eid.
Although indoor dining is closed, takeaway, delivery and drive-thru services at restaurants and cafes are permitted.

All the cinemas staff have been vaccinated, probably the reason restrictions have been lifted. Reports have stated that the government is looking to move forward with the same strategy: vaccinate as many restaurant and café workers as possible and then reopen indoor dining.

Vaccination campaign

A mass mobile vaccination drive has been going on for the past few days now as the Ministry of Health is going around Kuwait to vaccinate workers in commercial businesses.
Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, said on Monday that they have given 6,500 employees working at two malls (360 and Al Kout) the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, he noted that within the next few days they are planning to vaccinate 10,000 people working at the Avenues mall, the largest mall in Kuwait.

In an effort to speed up the process, the Ministry of Health has added a section on the online registration form for food and beverage sector workers and has urged those who have not signed-up yet to pre-register for the vaccine.
