Advisory – Pravasi Bharatiya Bima Yojana PBBY Insurance Policy
All Indian emigrant workers in Kuwait who have taken Pravasi Bharatiya Bima Yojna (from the Office of Protector of Emigrants in India) may note the following provisions of the Insurance Policy, for claim/reimbursement in case of eventualities:
➢ Coverage of INR 10 Lakhs in case of Accidental Death or Permanent Disability leading to loss of employment.
➢ Reimbursement of return economy class air fare to the nearest international airport to one attendant in case of Emigrant’s Accidental Death / Permanent Disability.
➢ Medical insurance cover for injuries / sickness / ailment / diseases available upto INR 1 Lakh (up to INR 50,000/- per hospitalization).
➢ One-way economy class air fare to the nearest international airport in India for medically unfit/premature termination of employment.
➢ Family Hospitalization in India available upto INR 50,000/- for Spouse and first two children upto 21 years of age.
➢ Maternity expenses benefit to women Emigrants available upto INR 50,000/-.
➢ Legal expenses for Labour grievances/disputes upto INR 30,000/-.
➢ PBBY Policy can be renewed on-line after the initial period of 2/3 years.
➢ Applicable even in case of change of Employer or location of Insured.
➢ Certification of Accidental Death / Permanent Disability can be obtained from Embassy of India.
➢ Representatives of the The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd., and The New India Assurance Corporation Ltd., who are the authorised agencies for PBBY, have office in Kuwait.
