About Kuwait Oil Tanker Company
KOTC was founded in April 1957 by a group of Kuwaiti investors who saw that sea transport would matter for the oil industry. It took delivery of its first crude tanker, the Kazimah, in 1959, and the government became a 49 per cent partner in 1976, according to the company’s history. Its fleet reached a peak of 38 vessels in 1993.
Today the company owns and manages tankers for crude oil, refined products and LPG, and operates them to international shipping standards.
