Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) | iiQ8 Best Place الشركة الكويتية لنفط الخليج
Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) is the KPC subsidiary responsible for Kuwait’s share of oil and gas operations in the Divided Zone, the area shared with Saudi Arabia. It was established in 2002, and its own website publishes unusually clear working hours and contact details.
This page covers the address and contacts, day-by-day working hours, KGOC’s vision and mission, a note on the planned merger with KOC, a guide to careers, how to reach Ahmadi by bus using the routes on KuwaitBusRoute, and links to related guides on IndianinQ8.
About KGOC
KGOC was established on 10 February 2002 as a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to take over Kuwait’s interests in the Divided Zone, the area between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia where both countries share the oil produced. It reports to KPC and works alongside its Saudi partner, according to its own site.
KGOC’s postal address is in Ahmadi, which is also where KOC and KNPC are based. Because the Divided Zone’s fields are in the south of Kuwait, near the Saudi border, most field work is far from Ahmadi town.
Vision, mission and what the company does
KGOC’s website says its mission is to explore, develop and produce hydrocarbons in the Divided Zone in a compliant, profitable, safe and environmentally responsible way. Its vision is to hold a leading global position in upstream oil and gas as an integrated, value-driven enterprise. Both statements are aligned with KPC’s upstream strategy.
Merger with KOC. In July 2025, press reports say, KPC transferred its shares in KGOC to the Kuwait Oil Company and began the executive phase of a merger of the two companies. KGOC’s name, logo and sites were reported to stay unchanged for the time being. Check KPC and KOC announcements for the current position before you rely on KGOC as a separate employer.

The company is closed on official Kuwaiti public holidays, and visitors should expect schedules to change around Eid and national days. Announcements come from the company and from the Kuwaiti government, so confirm before you visit.
Operations and services الشركة الكويتية لنفط الخليج
KGOC explores for, develops and produces oil and gas in the Divided Zone, together with its Saudi partner, and sells Kuwait’s share through KPC. Its work covers drilling, field development, production facilities and support services.
As a smaller upstream company, KGOC relies heavily on contractors, so many job and tender notices in the sector mention its name. Check who the employer is on any advert.
Careers and recruitment
Oil and gas companies in Kuwait recruit through their own websites and through the parent group, so check KGOC’s official website and, for roles across the group, the recruitment section of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. Roles include petroleum, drilling, production and facilities engineers, geoscientists, technicians and corporate specialists, but vacancies change and many positions are reserved for Kuwaiti nationals. Because of the planned merger with KOC, recruitment arrangements may change.
Be careful with recruitment offers. Apply only through the company’s official website, and do not pay money to anyone who promises a guaranteed job at a Kuwaiti oil company. For job leads that mention Kuwait’s oil and gas sector, see the Kuwait job vacancies on IndianinQ8, and always verify an employer on its own website.
How to reach the head office by bus
Ahmadi and the Shuaiba and Fahaheel area are served by CityBus and KPTC routes. KuwaitBusRoute’s page for Kuwait Bus 602 (Fahaheel to Ahmadi) lists Fahaheel and Ahmadi as its stops, and its master list, Kuwait bus routes and numbers, shows further Ahmadi services. Another KuwaitBusRoute-linked page describes Bus 999 as passing through Qibla, Sharq, the Shuwaikh Industrial Area and Ahmadi, with a journey time of about 75 to 80 minutes. The Divided Zone is far south of Ahmadi, and public buses do not serve the fields.
Bus routes, stops and timings change, and none of these pages names a stop at the company’s door, so check the route pages and the nearest stop before travelling. For fares and cards, see the Kuwait bus pass guide. You can also browse the list on Kuwait bus routes and numbers on IndianinQ8 and more local routes on KuwaitBusRoute.
