PSL 2023 Playoffs Race: Pakistan Super League – PSL Season 8 is halfway through and the race for playoffs is hotting up. With eight matches remaining in the league stage, no team has yet booked a spot in the Play-Offs and there’s everything to play for. While Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United look certain to qualify, Multan Sultans are also not far away. However, both Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will need to pull up their socks. Lahore Qalandars:
Currently, the defending champions are the table topper with 12 points. One more win and they will secure their berth for the playoffs. The Qalandars have played 7 matches and have 3 more to go. However, they will try to remain at the top by winning every match they got.
Remaining Matches:
- March 07: vs Peshawar Zalmi
- March 09: vs Islamabad United
- March 12: vs Karachi Kings
Islamabad United:
The United have played 7 matches till now and have 3 more games left. With 10 points they are standing second in the points table. They just need 2 more wins to qualify for the playoffs. United will try to win the remaining matches and be in the top two.

- March 09: vs Lahore Qalandars
- March 12: vs Peshawar Zalmi

Multan Sultans:
Last season’s runner-up played 7 matches and with 8 points they are in the third position. Sultans need to win 3 matches out of their 3 remaining matches to qualify. - March 07: vs Islamabad United
- March 10: vs Peshawar Zalmi
- March 11: vs Quetta Gladiators
Peshawar Zalmi:
Zalmi has played 6 matches and won 3 games. The Babar Azam-led team needs to win at least 3 of their four remaining games to smoothly qualify for the playoffs. Else they will have to depend on other teams to qualify. They are in the fourth position in the points table.

Karachi Kings:
With a loss against Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings have all but bowed out of the playoffs race. Having played 9 matches and won just 2 games, the Kings need to win their last match against Lahore Qalandars. But even then, they will need a lot of results to go their way. The Karachi Kings are fifth in the points table.

- March 06: vs Quetta Gladiators
- March 12: vs Lahore Qalandars
Quetta Gladiators:
Gladiators have won just two games out of 8 matches they have played. With only 4 points they are standing last in the points table. Even a win against Karachi Kings did not help their matters. All but out of the race, they still have hopes, albeit mathematically. To qualify for the playoffs they need to win the last two games while also depending on other teams and their NRR.
