Kuwait City, 16th March 2021: Students shall return to School in September 2021, iiQ8 Students can return to school in September after the vaccination of educational bodies. The Kuwait , Minister of Health (MoH), Dr. Basil Al-Sabah said that the students would gradually return to school in various stages with the beginning of the new academic year in September. MoH plans to vaccinate all educational and administrative bodies in schools next month, Al Jarida reported. Dr. Basil Al-Sabah stressed the importance of vaccinating everyone, to preserve the health and safety of life. He pointed out that so far 400,000 have been vaccinated in addition to that half of the elderly Kuwaitis registered have been vaccinated, while about a quarter of the elderly foreigners have been vaccinated. Kuwait City, 16th March 2021: Linking Of PCR Test Certificates With 15 Countries, iiQ8, Kuwait News A circular was issued by Directorate General of Civil Aviation stating that 15 countries have been linked with MUNA system which is specialized in verifying with laboratories outside Kuwait and ensuring the reliability of PCR certificates issued by them to ensure that they are not tampered or forged. Following countries are included in the list: India, Philippines, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, The Emirates, Turkey, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, The United Kingdom, France, & America. Kuwait City, 13th March, 2021: Recruitment of Filipino domestic workers to resume next week, iiQ8 Employers with previous history of not paying salaries will be barred Kuwait City: As of March 15, recruitment of domestic workers from the Philippines will resume according to Bassam Al Shammari, a representative of the labour recruitment offices. Al Shammari stated that the Philippine Union discussed the matter with the recruitment offices in Kuwait and have finalized the new regulations regarding contracts. He pointed out that any employer that has a history of employment issues or non-commitment to pay salaries will be barred from recruitment. The decision comes after the Philippines enforced a ban on sending new domestic workers to Kuwait back in January 3, 2020, after a Filipino domestic worker was sexually abused and killed by her employer.
