Kuwait City, 15th October 2021: 60 and above Residence renewal very soon in Kuwait, iiQ8 The Director of the Public Authority for Manpower was handed over suspension orders for issuing an illegal decision which was against Civil Service Law by the Minister of Commerce for prohibiting non graduate expats renewal of residence permit who were 60 yrs of age and above. The suspension was made at the request of the Fatwa Department and legislation. The decision of the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Abdullah Al-Salman, to suspend the director of the Manpower Department, Ahmed Al-Mousa, opens the door for Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Salman if he wishes to assign Al-Mousa’s deputy to carry out the work as the general manager, reports Al Anba. Kuwait probes official over disputed ban on expats ‘Decree’ banning expats above 60 without degree from renewing work permits annulled A senior Kuwaiti official has been referred to an interrogation for issuing a controversial decree banning expatriates above 60 who hold no university degree from renewing their work permits, local media reported. A government agency last week invalidated the ban. Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Al Salman has referred Director-General of the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) Ahmed Al Moussa to questioning for exposing Kuwait to legal consequences by issuing the ban without authorisation, Al Rai newspaper said.
