Kuwait Planning 20 KD Fine for Civil ID cards for not collecting

The Public Authority for Civil Information PACI, Kuwait is contemplating to introduce penalties for individuals who fail to collect their Civil ID Cards within three-month time frame.

According to Al Rai Arabic media, the fine could be upto 20 Dinar for individuals who exceed a three-month delay in collecting their civil identity cards and the card will be destroyed 6 months after its issuance.

According to the report, there is a large number of uncollected cards in the PACI system of over 22,000 cards. Approximately 70% of these cards belong to expatriates holding residency under Articles 18 and 22.

These uncollected cards are occupying valuable storage space and impeding the issuance of new cards, reports per daily news Al Rai.

To expedite the process of civil identity card issuance, the Authority has taken measures to halt the issuance of cards submitted prior to May 2023.

This strategic move aims to streamline the issuance process for submissions received after the aforementioned date, resulting in a more efficient card issuance timeline that now spans just a few days.
