Kuwait Implements Evening Shift for Ministries
Kuwait Implements Evening Shift for Ministries and Government Agencies Starting January 2025.
Kuwait City, 7th January 2025:
Kuwait has officially launched the evening shift system for ministries and government agencies, effective Sunday, January 5, 2025. This significant move comes as part of a Cabinet decision aimed at enhancing the work environment and operational efficiency within the public sector.
Objective Behind the Evening Shift Initiative:
The evening shift system is designed to improve government services by offering citizens and residents greater flexibility. By extending operating hours, the government hopes to simplify procedures, making it easier for people to complete transactions at times that suit their schedules. This initiative also aims to enhance overall accessibility and streamline service delivery.
Evening Shift Guidelines and Working Hours:
As per the new guidelines, ministries, authorities, and government institutions have already identified the staff members designated for the evening shift. The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has set specific rules to ensure efficiency and maintain a balanced workload. Employees working in the evening shift will have a maximum of 4.5 working hours per day, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
Work Hours and Flexibility:
The evening shift work will begin no earlier than 3:30 PM , and employees will follow a strict schedule that excludes flexible working hours for those assigned to evening shifts. Other conditions as per the CSC guidelines will also apply to ensure smooth operations.
This change is a step forward in modernizing Kuwait’s public sector, focusing on making government services more accessible and convenient for all. The evening shift system is expected to improve service delivery while offering better work conditions for government employees.
