Leading Construction Company is looking for (Chief Accountant – Code 102)
Job Description
Implement the departmental policies and procedures and comply with the overall company policies.
Comply with all applicable accounting standards as per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Supervise and participate in the activities of the Finance Function.
Record or direct/supervise the recording of accounting entries and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures through business activities.
Review and oversee financial entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documentation of business transactions.
Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable and payables, revenue distribution, depreciation, assets, operating expenses, etc.
Review Payables/Receivables balances on periodic basis from suppliers/clients to ensure accuracy on a regular basis and identify discrepancies to be investigated and resolved.
Assist the Finance Manager and TM and Admin in the preparation of the fiscal year budget before the scheduled time.
Coordination with the Human Resources function in payroll processing to ensure disbursement of employee dues on timely and accurate basis.
Monitor and implement period-end closing processes, ensure its completion in a timely and accurate manner.
Review all reports (e.g. depreciation report, receivable and payable ageing reports and reconciliations, bank and petty cash reconciliations etc.) prepared by the finance staff, as well as documents received from other functions, before submission to the Finance Manager TM and Admin.
Monitor the Chart of Accounts, identify the need of creating/modifying/deleting accounts and report to Finance Manager.
Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Skills
A. Education
·Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
·Master Degree in Accounting or Finance is optional.
B. Professional Experience
·7 – 9 years in the same field.
C. Competencies Required
·Technical experience: IFRS Knowledge.
·Professional (high quality of work), able to work under pressure.
·Good knowledge of oral and written English and Arabic. Excellent communications (verbal and written) and good presentation skills.
D. Certificates & Professional Qualifications
·ACCA Qualification.
·Certified Public Accountant (CPA),
Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualifications preferred.
