Job Summary

Primarily responsible for the delivery of one or more concurrent investigation assignments throughout the Group’s various business activities both in Kuwait and overseas. This includes, among others, the resourcing and administration of assignments from beginning to end and includes draft report preparation, in accordance with departmental procedures.  The incumbent should represent the department in a professional manner at all times, abide by professional standards as laid down by the ACFE and IIA, and seek every opportunity to follow the principles articulated in the department’s vision and objectives.

Job Responsibilities

·         Delivery of investigation assignments in accordance with departmental procedures. Specifically; under supervisory guidance, defining the work plan, summarizing the findings, interviewing suspects to determine duplicity, and recommending appropriate management actions to be taken.
·         The preparation of working papers in accordance with departmental procedures and best practice.
·         Detailing all findings, factual content, context and agreed actions to be taken with relevant operations management.
·         Liaison with line management, legal counsel and authorities on a regular or need to know basis, keeping them abreast of progress for cases under management.
·         Preparing the draft Investigation Reports for the Manager’s/ Senior Manager’s / Director’s review and finalization.
·         Participating in the regular companywide fraud risk assessment process.
·         Influencing the strengthening of business processes and controls through the sharing of best practices.
·         Assisting in the detection and prevention of fraud, sharing avoidance strategies and helping to create a centre of fraud prevention excellence.
·         Raising fraud awareness and encouraging others to report incidents of fraud or concerns in accordance with the Group’s Policy for the Prevention, Recording and Reporting of Fraud.
·         Managing Fraud Hotline to include receiving and logging hotline calls.
·         Maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality.

Candidate Requirements

–          Undergraduate or Qualified Accountant – CPA, CA, and ACCA preferred, but not required.
–          Undergraduate in Psychology, sociology or Criminology will be an added advantage, but not required
–          Knowledge of Arabic is highly preferable and those candidates who are bilingual in English and Arabic may receive a waiver for the education and experience requirements
–          1 to 3 years of audit, compliance, investigation, or related and/or relevant business experience that will be valuable to the Group Compliance Department’s overall achievement of its objectives
–          International exposure
–          Some Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, IIA Audit Standards, ACFE Standards
–          Good understanding of Corporate Governance requirements
–          Some Knowledge of Fraud risk assessment methodologies and mitigation techniques
–          Internal control documentation & evaluation
–          Investigative techniques and practices

Sr. Underwriting Officer

Job Summary

The role requires the agent to carry out the day-to-day issuances of policies (All lines) in accordance with instruction from Underwriter / Manager as per express or implied policies, processes and procedures of the company; using information and knowledge of market practices, more in a decisive level to independently judge and correctly act to the call of day to day process situations

Job Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customers and inter-departments to satisfy the procedural checks in relation to policy issuance
  • Manage all cordial relationships with both internal and external customers through timely checks and discussions
  • Take in advance, monthly renewal reports and seek Underwriting opinions on the same and thereafter own the timely issuance of renewals
  • Handle walk in and email customer queries on in house products
  • Be able to review account performance, claims information and payment history client wise and retrieve relevant reports when called for.
  • Able to minimally reply to re-insurer queries in support with Underwriters – With time
  • Evaluates client documents, order the risk to be ready for Underwriter assessment
  • Coordinating with claims, IT and finance department upon document requests
  • Have a general idea about underwriting changes in the market through discussions
  • Learn new products within or outside the same line
  • Month End and Quarterly Closings on time
  • Assist system development with IT to create a seamless automation process of all products within FGA – With experience
  • Error free policy document issuance and proper documentation – Primary function
  • Stock end adjustments – Tracking and averaging at year end from multiple sources
  • Formalize and summate figures for Underwriting analysis of the Treaty figures through reports retrieval
  • Able to lead and own any product channel with time, guide with its marketing ideas – Egs Travel
  • Examines and evaluate documents such as applications, inspection reports, financial reports, claims history and any other pertinent information to determine degree of risk, underwriting and appropriate market.
  • Has direct knowledge of the job skills in the underwriting positions including clear understanding of insurance processing systems, cancellations, policy changes and calculations
  • Be known and accustomed to the general FGA Treaty Provisions

Candidate Requirements

Candidate Requirements:
•    Must be in an underwriting role with minimum 2 years of related underwriting experience.

Education:
•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    Certification in Insurance minimum CERT CII or equivalent. (FIII /ACII/AINS/CPCU/AHIP /LOMA/CRIS/ARe/ARM or their equivalent shall be an added advantage)
