Kuwait City, 26th January 2021: MOI launch of sponsorship service online, iiQ8 The Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of a sponsorship service (18) from a sponsor to a sponsor via the Ministry of Interior website (www.moi.gov.kw) starting today, Tuesday, January 26. The General Department of Relations and Security Media reported that the service is a part of the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to digital transformation of all its services, saving time, effort and speedy completion for auditors, and therefore launched the General Department of Information Systems in cooperation and coordination with Residence affairs sector. Kuwait City, 24th January 2021: Kuwait to launch strict campaign against visa violators, iiQ8 Deadline to amend residency permits will end on Jan 31 There are over 100,000 visa violators, yet since the grace period began in March only 5,000 people took advantage of the grace period and amended their status. Visa violators: Visa violations in Kuwait have hit a new record, with around 180,000 expats in the country being without valid residency permits, Al Rai reported. A 38 per cent spike occurred since August where the total number of visa violators was around 130,000. Grace period: The Ministry of Interior initiated its first grace period at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March and was supposed to end in May. But, the Ministry extended the grace period, as governmental agencies remained shut, therefore announcing that expats were permitted to extend their residency permits and visits visas for another three months, until end of August. Kuwait City, 22nd January 2021: 50 KD Additional to pay by Kuwait Arrivals, iiQ8 Passengers traveling to Kuwait have to pay additional 50 KD As per recent decision by the Council of Ministers that airlines are to be charged for #PCR tests for arrivals, the Directorate of Civil Aviation directed the airlines operating at Kuwait Airport to add the price of the PCR tests that will be imposed on all arrivals to Kuwait. The concerned authorities have reached an initial price of KD 25 per PCR examination, two tests totals to KD 50. The first test will be done on arrival and second after 7 days of institutional quarantine. Both PCR fees will be added to the ticket of passengers who are coming to Kuwait, reports Al Rai.
