Kuwait City: The Ministry of Health has demanded that all governmental hospitals treat emergency patients without asking for proof of identity, local media reported. The memo stated that the hospitals should prioritize urgent medical intervention to address the patient’s condition and then once they are stable they can collect identity verification and treatment fees. No identity The decision came after it was revealed that some hospitals were inquiring about the procedures as several domestic workers were brought to the hospitals by the ambulance without any form of identity. A spike in daily infection rates in the country prompted Kuwaiti authorities last February to impose a ban on non-Kuwaitis’ entry that has recently been extended.
