Local Arabic media Al Anba daily reported quoting sources from authority. Authorities also clarified that expatriates in some professions termed as 'Marginal Profession' cannot apply for dependent visa even if their salary is above 500 KD. Visit Visa Authorities clarified that the minimum salary required to apply for a visit visa for wife and children is KD 250, however, the concerned department has a last say in such issues and can issue a visit visa even if the salary of the sponsor is less than 250. The duration of a visit visa for siblings and parents is one month only. Extension of visa is at the discretion of the General Department for Residence Affairs.   …

No dependent Visa for children above 12 Years Children above 12 year are not eligible to get dependent visa, reported local Arabic daily Al-Jarida. According to Al-Jarida newspaper, the new regulation stipulates that an expatriate children of above 12 years of age are not eligible to get a dependent visa. The Arabic paper also reported that the residence permits of children under dependent visa (son) will not be eligible for renewal once the son is crossed 18 years of age unless they produce proof of that they are registered at one of the local universities. This will inversely affect the families with 12 years and above kids who are planning to join with their husband in Kuwait. Family Visa salary cap increased to 500 KD, iiQ8 Saturday, August 24, 2019 Interior Ministry issued a new decision which stipulates the minimum salary to obtain a Family Visa to 500 KD. Earlier the salary limit for Family visa was 450 KD. MOI clarifies requirements for expat's driving license in Q8, iiq8 news Wednesday, July 10, 2019 Department of Public Relations and Security Media in Ministry of Interior has launched a new initiative to clarify the rules for expatriates, and non-Kuwaiti and Bedoun husbands of Kuwaiti women to obtain driving licenses. Citing Al-Anba daily, local newspaper Arab Times reported that this awareness initiative is in order to limit the repeated questions on this matter and avoid responding to them over and over again. As per ministerial decree No. 5598/2014, non-Kuwaiti applicants can obtain a private or public driving license provided that they have legally stayed in the country for at least two years, obtain a monthly salary not less than KD 600, and have a university degree.
