Operating System configuration for SAP
After determining the resources that are available to SAP ASE and the resources you require, configure the physical resources at the operating system level.

If you are using raw partitions, initialize the raw devices to the sizes required by SAP ASE. If you initialize a raw device for SAP ASE, you cannot use that device for any other purpose (for example, to store operating system files). Ask your operating system administrator for assistance in initializing and configuring raw devices to the required sizes.

Configure the number of network connections. Make sure that the machine on which SAP ASE runs can actually support the number of connections you configure. See your operating system documentation.

Additional configuration may be required for your operating system and the applications that you use. Read the installation guide for your platform. Also read your client software documentation or consult with your engineers to understand the operating system requirements for your applications.

Required Browser Settings
The following browser settings are applicable to your on-demand solution.

Downloads
Downloading files should be enabled in your browser since the SAP on-demand solution can export files to your PC. If your browser supports restricting downloads by file type, you should enable at least the XML and CSV file types.

Pop-Ups:
The pop-up blocker should either be disabled, or the system URL should be registered as an exceptional site for the pop-up blocker.
About Browser Versions
SAP performs manual and automated testing on the supported and recommended browsers. Recommended browsers provide better performance and usability. Later versions of the recommended browser should be compatible.
Use the latest, stable version of the recommended browsers. Please note that some browsers download and apply updates automatically.
Required Domain Settings
Allow applications to access resources from the *.sapbydesign.com domains.
If you use a URL filter to blocklist a category of websites, you must allow *.sapbydesign.com domains as an exception.
