అది ఒక మారుమూల గ్రామం. అక్కడ నుండి పట్నం వెళ్ళాలంటే ఎన్ని రోజులైనా కాలి నడకన పోవల్సిందే మరి!
అలాంటి మారుమూల గ్రామంలో ఉండేవాడు అంజి. చిన్నతనం లోనే అతని తల్లిదండ్రులు చనిపోయారు. అప్పటినుండీ తినటానికి తిండి లేక, బ్రతుకు బండిని తోసుకు పోలేక అతను నానా కష్టాలు పడ్డాడు. అలాంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో అతనికి పవన్ అనే పిల్లవాడు పరిచయం అయ్యాడు.
