What types of GO Cards are there Go-Cards come in two forms, anonymous or personalised.

 

  • Anonymous cards can be purchased from the ticket offices in the main bus terminals, from the Ticket Vending Machines at the stations or from the bus driver.
  • Anonymous cards can be used for pay-as-you-go (single trips and daily capping) and for the Weekly Pass.
  • Personalized GO Cards can be purchased only at the ticket offices in the main bus terminals during opening hours
  • Personalizing your GO Card with your photograph and details will allow us to identify it and find it for you in case of lost or being stolen, it will help us manage your GO Card account and transfer any balance on your lost/stolen GO card.
  • Personalized GO Cards can be used for all options, including pay-as-you-go (single trips and daily capping), the Weekly Pass and the Monthly Pass.

 

All GO Cards can store cash credit which can be used to suit your needs and convenience. 

 

You can have a Pass and credit on the card at the same time.

All GO cards are re-usable and you can add more credit when convenient as you require.

What types of GO Cards are there

Any money loaded on the GO Card will remain available to let you travel; there is no time limit, and the credit on the card remains there until you use it. 

 

If your GO Card becomes damaged, we can issue you with a new one and transfer any outstanding credit from the old one, to the new one. If the card is visibly damaged, you may be charged 500 fils for a new card.

 

The Monthly Pass is just 12 BD for 28 days travel and the Weekly Pass 3 BD for 7 days travel! In the future, there will be other options – saving you money when you travel regularly. 

 

The Monthly Pass can only be purchased from the retail office in the main bus station, the Weekly Pass can be purchased from the retail office, ticket vending machines, or from the driver.

Additionally elderly and special needs citizens can purchase a personalised Go-Card for discounted travel (elderly citizens) or free travel (special needs citizens). Please see the FAQ’s section for more information.

 

How do I travel by bus in Bahrain?

Can visit a retail office at one of our bus terminals to purchase a GO-Card which will cost 500 fils. This will enable travel for 138 fils per trip. The maximum amount that will be charged is 350 fils per day, there is no limit to the number of trips that can be made.

Bahrain Public Transport Company (البحرين النقل العام), also known as bahrain public transport, is a public transportation provider in Bahrain that operates Bus routes.

The Bahrain Public Transport Company has 28 Bus routes in Bahrain with 512 Bus stops.

A single ticket will cost 250 Fils, a day pass will cost 600 Fils including unlimited trips in the same day.

A GO Card is the simplest and cheapest way to use our buses. With a GO Card you can board buses much faster, as you just need to Check-In using the ticket machines; you don’t have to worry about having the correct change and you won’t need to ask the driver for change. The machine will automatically charge the correct fare when you Check-In and deduct the fare from the credit on the GO Card.
