What is the route of Vande Bharat?
With today’s (11th February 2023) flag off, Vande Bharat trains will run on 10 routes across the Indian Railways network.
These are:
1. New Delhi – Shri Vaishno Devi Mata, Katra
2. New Delhi – Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
3. Gandhinagar Capital – Ahmedabad – Mumbai Central
4. Amb Andaura – New Delhi
5. Mysuru – Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR Chennai Central
6. Nagpur, Maharashtra – Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh
7. Howrah – New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal
8. Secunderabad, Telangana – Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
9. Mumbai – Sainagar Shirdi, Maharashtra

What is the cost of Vande Bharat ticket?
- Vande Bharat ticket prices are dependent on the distance and route you are travelling on.
- The air-conditioned chair car service has the option of catering as well, so the ticket prices would be higher in case you opt for on-board meals at the time of ticket booking.
What is special about Vande Bharat?
- Vande Bharat Express is an indigenous semi-high speed train of Indian Railways under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The 160 kmph capable self-propelled train looks like a bullet train on the exterior with its cone-style driver cabin.
- It offers superior ride comfort and a much faster train travel option for passengers and has been called “world-class” by Indian Railways.
- The idea is to replace Shatabdi Express trains with this more premium offering that has several aircraft-style comforts for passengers.

How many Vande Bharat run in India?
- As mentioned above, after today’s flag off by PM Narendra Modi, a total of 10 Vande Bharat trains will run on the network.
- Indian Railways aims to roll out 75 Vande Bharat Express train services by August 2023.
- It is also in the process of finalising the tender for manufacture of 200 sleeper versions of Vande Bharat trains.
Is Vande Bharat train running from Mumbai?
- There are three Vande Bharat Express trains from Mumbai now.
- While one is an interstate train service, the other two are intra-state services.
- The Vande Bharat Express routes from Mumbai are:
