Chhath Puja   ๐‘ช๐‘ฏ๐‘ฏ๐‘จ๐‘ป๐‘ฏ ๐‘ท๐‘ผ๐‘ฑ๐‘จ ๐Ÿช” Chhath Puja is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival dedicated to ๐’๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฒ๐š ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ & ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐”๐ฌ๐ก๐š & ๐’๐š๐ง๐๐ก๐ฒ๐š in order to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes. ๐Ÿช”The Goddess who is worshipped during the famous Chhath Puja is known as ๐‚๐ก๐ก๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ข ๐Œ๐š๐ข๐ฒ๐š. Chhathi Maiya is known as ๐”๐ฌ๐ก๐š and She is believed to be the beloved younger wife of Surya Dev, the Sun God. ๐Ÿช”In Mithilanchal region She is also worshipped as "๐‘๐š๐ง๐š ๐Œ๐š๐ข". It is observed by Maithilis, Magahis, Bhojpuris & even Awadhis of India & Nepal. ๐Ÿช” Chhath means Six in Maithili, Magahi & Bhojpuri languages because the main festival occurs after 5 days of Deepavali i.e, the sixth day, hence the name ๐‚๐ก๐ก๐š๐ญ๐ก.
