No work permit for above 60 years old, iiQ8, Kuwait News
Kuwait City, 16th August, 2020:
The Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, Ahmed Al-Mousa, issued a decision halting the renewal of a work permit for those who have reached the age of sixty years and above, and have a high school diploma or below or a certificate that is equivalent. The degree will be in effect from 1 January, 2021, reports Al Rai.
According to statistics, there are around 83,562 expats in the country who are 60 and above without university degrees, reports Al Qabas. They are divided into five categories: the illiterate at 15,847, those who can read and write are around 24,000, those with a primary education are 10,000, Intermediate school level diploma holders are 16,000 and Secondary level education degrees are 16,000.
The Public authority for Manpower, Kuwait – PAM issued a circular to stop issues work permits for expatriates who are above 60 years of age and without a university degree.
The Director General of the PAM, Mr. Ahmed Al Mousa issued a decision in this regarding whereas the
decision will be applied starting from 1st January, 2021.

implemented.
