Kuwait City, 21st September, 2020 : Airport to be fully operational when COVID vaccine available The Executive Committee for the restarting of Commercial Flights decided to exempt the aircraft and technical crews from the 14-day home quarantine period, as per the procedures by the Ministry of Health to examine them continuously during specific periods. This was as per what was stated by the Deputy Director General for Kuwait Airport Affairs, Saleh Al-Fadaghi, as currently all arrivals there have been no new procedures about reducing home quarantine or allowing them to be institutionalized. Al-Fadaghi stated, said in his statement that the committee has decided to restart service in restaurants and cafes to the public in accordance with health and preventive requirements, and to open prayer rooms to perform prayers only without sitting, the decisions issued came after recommendations were submitted by civil aviation that had the approval of the health authorities. Kuwait City, 20th September, 2020: Kuwait opens 3rd drive-thru testing station Kuwait will open a new drive-through PCR testing station to expand the COVID-19 testing capacity of the Arab country The new PCR testing station will be launched on Sept. 20 in Sabhan Area, KUNA quoted Fahad Al-Qemlas, Director of Public Health in the Kuwait's Ministry of Health (MoH), as saying. The station will conduct swab tests and is part of the MoH's efforts to conduct as many tests as possible to contribute to curbing the spread of the COVID-19, Fahad Al-Qemlas said, adding that people wishing to conduct swab tests could make an appointment through the ministry's website. The new facility, in full compliance with health and safety measures, could test up to 1,000 people per day at its initial phase, he noted. The committee has decided that for kindergarteners up to third-graders, will have to study from pre-recorded lessons. Students in the fourth and fifth grade, will have to attend live online classes but restricted to the afternoon from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The source pointed out expatriates whose residence permits expired on Sept 1, 2020, will not benefit from the deadline of Nov 30, 2020, issued by the Ministry of Interior. The source added, the decision states only those whose residence permit expired from March until end of August 2020 can benefit from the Nov 30, deadline.
