New work permits through Ashal Portal in Kuwait, 60+ Renew via Ashal App
KUWAIT: New work permits will be issued through the Ashal app of the Public Authority for Manpower, which is linked to the health ministry app for vaccination certificates that can be uploaded electronically, a local daily reported yesterday.
The mechanism of receiving new work permit applications will be announced, based on the Cabinet’s earlier decision to resume issuance of new visas and work permits, according to informed sources quoted in Al-Qabas Arabic newspaper’s report.
The Cabinet asked PAM to coordinate with the health and interior ministries, making sure that the vaccination certificates are authentic and registered via a link with the health ministry.
PAM meanwhile said employers desiring to bring workers on government contracts must attach airline tickets with contract forms mentioning working hours,
work permit duration, job designation and academic qualification, along with housing allowance.
PAM has activated the mechanism linking all professions with their academic degrees. The electronic platform will provide 28 services for residents, mainly for transferring to work permits, self-sponsorship, partners and families.

PAM begins residence renewal for 60’s non-graduate expats; 36 work permits renewed
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: After waiting for more than a year, and in an indication that the solutions will be implemented and the cloud has cleared in front of a large group of residents, the Public Authority for Manpower announced it has issued 36 work permits to non-graduate expatriates who are 60 years and above after paying the fees, through the “Ashal” application, after opening the door on January 24 to issue work permits for this category of residents.
The authority said in a press statement yesterday, that the issuance of these permits was carried out in accordance with the established fees and procedures, referring to Administrative Decision No. “27” of 2021 regarding the issuance of a list of rules and procedures for granting work permits.
The issuance of 36 permits ends the ‘dispute’ of government coordination, which led to the delay after PAM refused to renew the permits of those holding health insurance policies from companies not listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange. By Faris Al-Abdan AlSeyassah Staff and Agencies.
