People are so confused about Lohri festival celebration that on which day they should celebrate the festival as some people believe that the Lohri will be celebrated on January 13.
As per Drik Panchang, Lohri festival will be celebrated on January 14, this year and Makar Sankranti is going to be celebrated on January 15, 2023.

Lohri has a special significance among Hindus. This festival falls a day before Makar Sankranti.
This day is considered to be an auspicious for all the people belonging from different regions. People pay tribute to all the farmers by celebrating this festival. Sikh people organize a fair on this day to commemorate the martyrdom of Chaali Muktae (the Forty Liberated or the Immortal Ones) and offer prayers or Sikh Ardas to them.
Why is Lohri celebrated?
Lohri is a special festival which is related to the sowing and harvesting of crops. It also celebrates the arrival of warmer weather because after Makar Sankranti, a day after Lohri, the nights get shorter, and the days get longer. The bonfire, lit during the celebrations of this festival, represents the same idea.

As per the legend, There was a dacoit named Dulla, who lived in Punjab during the reign of Mughal emperor Akbar. He was known for his courage and strength and people consider him as a fearless man as he single handedly rescued the slave girls and he used to arrange their marriages. Since then, Lohri festival is celebrated to remember Dulla Bhatti and his exploits, Sundri and Mundri. People have created a theme of this folklore, which they used in folk songs. Nowadays, it has become common to use this theme in folk songs while celebrating the Lohri harvest festival.

Lohri is celebrated in various regions with great grandeur and enthusiasm. Mainly Punjabi and Sikh community people lit bonfires outside their house, people sing and dance around the bonfire and throw food items like popcorn, puffed rice, popcorns, and other things to show their gratitude towards God. All these offerings are made in order to seek blessings from god. Dance and music are the main attraction on the day of Lohri. People wear new traditional clothes during celebration. They invite their relatives and friends to celebrate this festival to the fullest. They even distribute gazak, popcorn, puffed rice and other sweets to all the people who are present there, people play loud music and dance The festival is considered incomplete without delicious food and cuisine.
Similarly, Lohri is also incomplete without amazing food. On this propitious day of Lohri, women prepare special and traditional food which is Sarso da Saag and Makke di Roti along with Gud, til kibarfi or panjiri, Makhane ki kheer, til ke laddoo, Pinni, Gondh Ke ladoo and lassi.
As this is the winter season but still many people like to have Lassi along with the this food and they enjoy the punjabi food items.
