Kuwait cuts isolation period for vaccinated to 7 days

#Kuwait on Tuesday updated the quarantine & isolation conditions for vaccinated and unvaccinated people in the country, the MOH Spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad explained the conditions as follows:

◾ A person is considered in contact if they come in contact with a positive case for at least 15 minutes without covering the mouth and nose, and for a space of two meters or less.

◾ A person in contact must quarantine for 14 days that can be shortened to seven with a negative PCR test if they are vaccinated. Unvaccinated people must quarantine for the full 14-day period.

◾ In case of infection, a vaccinated person must isolate for seven days starting from the day of the PCR test, while an unvaccinated person must isolate for 10 days.

◾ Meanwhile, Dr Sanad explained that a vaccinated or ‘immune’ person is someone who has taken three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or has taken the second dose for not more than 9 months. Otherwise, the person is considered unvaccinated or ‘non-immune’.

◾ Moreover, a person who has been infected with COVID-19 is also considered ‘immune’ and is treated as a vaccinated person for a period of 28 days after ending the isolation
