Kuwait Grants Automatic Visa Extension and Extra Absence Permit Amid Exceptional Circumstances
The Ministry of Interior Kuwait has announced urgent measures to support residents and visitors during the exceptional circumstances currently facing the country. The decision includes an automatic one-month extension for visit visas and a three-month absence permit for residents who are currently outside the country.
The announcement was issued by the Ministry of Interior Kuwait in the Kuwait to ease administrative burdens and help individuals affected by travel or residency complications during this period.
Automatic One-Month Extension for Visit Visas
According to the ministry’s statement, all types of visit entry visas that have expired or are about to expire will automatically be extended for one month.
The extension takes effect starting February 28, 2026, and will be processed electronically through the government system, meaning visa holders do not need to visit residency affairs departments.
In addition, authorities confirmed that all related extension fees and any fines incurred during this period will be fully waived, offering relief to visitors who may have been unable to regularize their status due to the current situation.
Three-Month Absence Permit for Residents Abroad
The decision also benefits residents of Kuwait who are currently outside the country and may have exceeded the permitted absence period.
These residents will receive an automatic three-month absence permit, allowing them additional time to return without facing penalties or risking their residency status. Similar to the visa extension, the permit will be granted automatically through the electronic system, eliminating the need for in-person procedures.

أعلنت وزارة الداخلية الكويتية عن إجراءات عاجلة لدعم المقيمين والزائرين في ظل الظروف الاستثنائية التي تمر بها البلاد حاليًا. وتتضمن هذه الإجراءات تمديدًا تلقائيًا لمدة شهر واحد لتأشيرات الزيارة، بالإضافة إلى منح تصريح غياب إضافي لمدة 3 أشهر للمقيمين الذين يتواجدون حاليًا خارج البلاد.
جاء هذا الإعلان لتخفيف الأعباء الإدارية ومساعدة الأشخاص المتأثرين بمشاكل السفر أو الإقامة خلال هذه الفترة الحرجة.
تمديد تلقائي لمدة شهر واحد لتأشيرات الزيارة
وفقًا لبيان الوزارة، سيتم تمديد جميع أنواع تأشيرات الدخول للزيارة التي انتهت صلاحيتها أو على وشك الانتهاء تلقائيًا لمدة شهر واحد.
يبدأ سريان هذا التمديد اعتبارًا من 28 فبراير 2026، وسيتم تطبيقه إلكترونيًا عبر النظام الحكومي، مما يعني أن حاملي التأشيرات ليسوا بحاجة لزيارة أقسام شؤون الإقامة شخصيًا.
وأكدت الجهات المعنية أن جميع الرسوم المتعلقة بالتمديد وأي غرامات قد تنشأ خلال هذه الفترة سيتم إعفاؤها بالكامل، مما يمنح راحة للزائرين الذين لم يتمكنوا من تجديد تأشيراتهم بسبب الظروف الراهنة.
تصريح غياب لمدة 3 أشهر للمقيمين خارج البلاد
كما استفاد من هذا القرار المقيمون في الكويت الذين يتواجدون خارج البلاد وربما تجاوزوا فترة الغياب المسموح بها.
سيحصل هؤلاء المقيمون على تصريح غياب إضافي تلقائي لمدة 3 أشهر، مما يمنحهم مزيدًا من الوقت للعودة دون التعرض لأي عقوبات أو فقدان حالة الإقامة. ويتم منح التصريح أيضًا إلكترونيًا عبر النظام، دون الحاجة إلى إجراءات الحضور الشخصي.
إمكانية تمديد إضافي
أشارت وزارة الداخلية إلى أن هذه الإجراءات قد تُمدد حسب تطورات الوضع في البلاد، ودعت الجميع إلى متابعة القنوات الرسمية للبقاء على اطلاع بأي تحديثات أو تغييرات.
