How to activate your card through any of the below channels:

• SMS: Send “ACT” followed by the last 4 digits of your card number from the registered mobile number via SMS to 1 805 805. (eg: ACT 1234)

• Visit your nearest Gulf Bank Branch.

 

Guidelines for card usage:

1. To activate your contactless payment service on the card, the first transaction should be a normal contact chip & PIN number transaction at any POS or ATM.

2. It is recommended to change your card PIN number at any of Gulf Bank branches ATMs upon receiving and activating the card.

3. Any contactless purchase transaction under KD25 can be done without a PIN number.

4. Any contactless purchase transaction over KD25 will require a PIN number to complete the transaction.

5. PIN number will be required for all contact & chip transactions.

6. On receipt of your new card, check the name on the card, sign the reverse immediately and destroy your old card (if any).

7. Keep your card and PIN number safe and separate at all times, avoid disclosing your PIN number.

8. Do not provide your card number over the phone, unless you are dealing with a reputable company, or you have initiated the call yourself.

Steps in detail very simple language :

1. Send SMS to 1805805 sample as (ACT 1234)
2. You have to wait for few seconds
3. You will receive a reply in the same SMS as (Dear Customer, you OTP for Card activation is XXXX. Please reply back with this OTP number only to activate your Card. Example 1234 = XXXX
4. Send SMS to the same number XXXX
5. You have to wait for few seconds.
6. You will receive a confirmation SMS as (Dear Customer, Your card XXXX has been activated. Enjoy using your Gulf Bank Card.)
