🚉 Dubai Metro Blue Line Stations
RTA has confirmed 14 stations, but the final passenger station naming/coding should be checked against the official RTA network information closer to opening.
For SEO purposes, the safest way to describe the planned route is by the areas and interchange stations RTA has officially announced.
Planned Blue Line route areas
| No. | Planned area / station location | Importance |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Creek | Green Line interchange |
| 2 | Dubai Festival City | Major residential/commercial destination |
| 3 | Dubai Creek Harbour | Iconic Blue Line station |
| 4 | Ras Al Khor | Industrial/residential area |
| 5 | International City 1 | Major interchange |
| 6 | International City 2 | International City |
| 7 | International City 3 | International City |
| 8 | Dubai Silicon Oasis | Technology/business hub |

| 10 | Al Warqa | Residential area |
| 11 | Mirdif | Residential area |
| 12 | Centrepoint | Red Line interchange |
| 13–14 | Additional stations | Final station naming to be confirmed by RTA |
Important: Do not publish invented station codes such as B01, B02, etc. until RTA officially releases the passenger station numbering. The Blue Line has 14 stations, but the currently published RTA project information is primarily describing them by their locations and interchange points.
🔄 Dubai Metro Blue Line Interchange Stations
One of the biggest advantages of the Blue Line will be its integration with the existing Dubai Metro network.
There will be three major interchange points.
🟢 Creek – Green Line
The Blue Line will connect with the existing Green Line at Creek Station in Al Jaddaf.
This will allow passengers travelling on the Green Line to access:
- Dubai Creek Harbour
- Dubai Festival City
- Ras Al Khor
- International City
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- Academic City
RTA officially identifies Creek as a Blue Line/Green Line interchange.
🔴 Centrepoint – Red Line
The Blue Line will connect with the existing Red Line at Centrepoint.
Centrepoint is currently the eastern terminus of the Red Line.
The new connection will make it easier for passengers travelling from the Red Line to reach:
- Mirdif
- Al Warqa
- International City
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- Academic City
🔵 International City 1
International City 1 will become an important interchange within the Blue Line itself.
The two Blue Line routes will meet here.
This means passengers will be able to travel between:
Centrepoint → Mirdif → Al Warqa → International City 1
and
Creek → Festival City → Dubai Creek Harbour → Ras Al Khor → International City 1 → Silicon Oasis → Academic City
without needing to leave the Blue Line network.
RTA describes International City 1 as an interchange station and says it will be the largest underground interchange station in the Dubai Metro network.
🏙️ Areas Served by Dubai Metro Blue Line
The Blue Line is designed to connect nine key areas with a combined population expected to be around one million people.
The major areas include:
1. Dubai Creek Harbour: One of Dubai’s major waterfront developments. The Blue Line will have an iconic architectural station here.
2. Dubai Festival City: A major mixed-use destination containing residential, commercial, shopping and entertainment facilities.
3. Ras Al Khor: The route will serve the Ras Al Khor area, improving public transport connectivity in an important eastern Dubai corridor.
4. International City: International City is one of the major population centres served by the Blue Line. The line will serve International City 1, 2 and 3.
5. Dubai Silicon Oasis: Dubai Silicon Oasis is an important technology, innovation and business district.
6. Dubai Academic City: The Blue Line will provide Metro access to Dubai Academic City and its universities and educational institutions.
7. Mirdif: Mirdif is one of the major residential areas that will gain direct Metro connectivity.
8. Al Warqa: Al Warqa will receive new Metro connectivity through the Centrepoint branch.
9. Al Jaddaf: The Green Line connection at Creek in Al Jaddaf will integrate the Blue Line with the existing Metro system.
RTA says the Blue Line will directly serve areas including Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City 1 and 2, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City.
✈️ Dubai International Airport to Blue Line Areas
One of the most useful features of the Blue Line for travellers will be improved access to Dubai International Airport (DXB).
RTA says the Blue Line will provide direct connections between Dubai International Airport and key areas including:
- Mirdif
- Al Warqa
- International City 1
- International City 2
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- Academic City
- Ras Al Khor Industrial Area
- Dubai Creek Harbour
- Dubai Festival City
RTA says journeys between these destinations and the airport are expected to take around 20 minutes in relevant connections.
✈️ Important traveller benefit
Currently, passengers travelling to many of these areas may need to combine Metro, bus or taxi services.
The Blue Line is designed to make these journeys considerably easier.
🏨 Dubai Blue Line for Tourists
Although the Red Line currently serves many of Dubai’s best-known tourist attractions, the Blue Line will open access to a different side of the city.
Tourists will particularly benefit from:
- Dubai Creek Harbour
- Dubai Festival City
- Dubai Creek
- Ras Al Khor
- International City
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- Academic City
The Blue Line will therefore complement the Red and Green Lines rather than simply duplicate them.
🌆 Dubai Creek Harbour Metro Station
One of the most anticipated stations on the Blue Line is the Dubai Creek Harbour iconic station.
RTA says the station will be a major architectural landmark.
The station is expected to have approximately 11,000 square metres of floor space and a capacity of around 160,000 passengers per day.
This will make Dubai Creek Harbour one of the most important destinations on the future Blue Line.
🏗️ World’s Highest Metro Station
The Blue Line will introduce another major architectural landmark to Dubai.
The planned Emaar station will stand approximately 74 metres high, making it the world’s highest Metro station according to RTA.
The station has been designed as an architectural gateway and is expected to become another distinctive landmark in Dubai’s transport network.
🌉 Dubai Metro Blue Line Will Cross Dubai Creek
Another major engineering feature is the Blue Line’s crossing over Dubai Creek.
The project includes a 1,300-metre bridge crossing Dubai Creek.
RTA describes this as the first Metro route in Dubai to cross Dubai Creek in this manner.
The crossing will connect the areas around:
Al Jaddaf → Dubai Creek Harbour → Ras Al Khor
🚇 Underground and Elevated Sections
The Blue Line will combine underground and elevated Metro infrastructure.
Total length – 30 km
Underground – 15.5 km
Elevated – 14.5 km
RTA says the Blue Line will include 14 stations, with a combination of underground and elevated stations.
💳 Dubai Metro Blue Line Fare
⚠️ Important
The Blue Line does not currently have a passenger fare because it has not opened yet.
RTA has not published a final Blue Line-specific passenger fare schedule that should be used as a current ticket price.
However, because the Blue Line will form part of Dubai’s integrated Metro network, passengers should expect it to operate within the wider nol public transport fare system.
Dubai’s existing Metro fares are calculated according to the applicable public transport zones.
Current Dubai Metro fare reference
| Zones | Silver Nol | Gold Nol |
|---|---|---|
| Within 1 Zone | AED 3 | AED 6 |
| 2 Adjacent Zones | AED 5 | AED 10 |
| More than 2 Zones | AED 7.50 | AED 15 |
These are current Dubai Metro fare levels and should not be presented as the final Blue Line fare.
RTA will need to confirm the applicable fare rules and any Blue Line-specific changes before passenger operations begin.
🎫 Will Nol Card Work on the Blue Line?
The Blue Line is being developed as part of Dubai’s integrated public transport network.
The existing Dubai Metro uses nol for fare payment.
Passengers should therefore check RTA’s official announcement closer to the Blue Line opening for:
- Nol Card compatibility
- Fare zones
- Gold Class fares
- Red Ticket availability
- Daily/weekly/monthly travel products
- Transfer rules
For now, it is better to avoid claiming a specific Blue Line fare until RTA officially publishes the passenger tariff.
🕐 Dubai Metro Blue Line Timings
Current status
The Blue Line is not operating yet.
Therefore, there is currently:
❌ No daily passenger timetable
❌ No train departure schedule
❌ No station opening hours
❌ No published first/last train schedule
The current Red and Green Line operating hours should not be copied and presented as Blue Line operating hours.
RTA will publish the official Blue Line timetable closer to the opening date.
📅 Dubai Metro Blue Line Project Timetable
For travellers and future residents, this is the most useful timetable currently available.
| Period | Blue Line status |
|---|---|
| 2023 | Route approved |

The Blue Line is being designed for high passenger capacity.
RTA’s project information indicates a planned service interval of approximately 1.5 minutes under the project’s capacity planning, with the line designed to handle tens of thousands of passengers per hour in both directions.
However:
This should not be treated as the final passenger timetable or guaranteed train frequency for every station and time of day.
Actual operating frequency will be confirmed by RTA before the line opens.
👥 Expected Blue Line Passengers
The Blue Line is expected to become one of Dubai’s busiest Metro routes. RTA projects:
2030 – Approximately 200,000 passengers per day
2040 – Approximately 320,000 passengers per day
The line is designed to serve areas expected to have approximately one million residents by 2040.

The route will connect:
Centrepoint → Mirdif → Al Warqa → International City 1
This will provide a major public transport improvement for Mirdif residents.
🏘️ Blue Line to Al Warqa
Al Warqa will also receive direct Metro access.
Passengers travelling from Centrepoint will be able to travel through:
Centrepoint → Mirdif → Al Warqa → International City 1
This will significantly improve connectivity between eastern residential areas and the wider Metro network.
✈️ Blue Line and Dubai Airport
The Blue Line will significantly improve airport connectivity.
RTA says it will provide direct connections between Dubai International Airport and nine key areas along the Blue Line, with journey times expected to be around 20 minutes for relevant airport connections.
Areas with planned direct airport connectivity include:
- Mirdif
- Al Warqa
- International City 1
- International City 2
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- Academic City
- Ras Al Khor Industrial Area
- Dubai Creek Harbour
- Dubai Festival City
🧳 Dubai Airport Traveller Tip
Until the Blue Line opens in 2029, passengers should continue using the existing Red Line for Dubai International Airport Metro connections.
The Blue Line should therefore be considered a future airport connection, not an existing service.
🌳 Sustainability and Green Building
The Blue Line has been designed with sustainability as an important part of the project.
RTA says the project is the first transport project of its kind in Dubai to adhere to green building regulations and specifications and achieve a Platinum category rating.
The project is also expected to:

- Bus bays
- Taxi stands
- Bicycle parking
- Electric scooter parking
- Parking facilities for People of Determination
This will make it easier for passengers to complete the final part of their journey after leaving the Metro.
♿ Accessibility
The Blue Line is being developed as an integrated modern Metro project with accessibility facilities.
RTA says stations will include facilities such as designated parking for People of Determination and integration with other transport modes.

🔵 Blue Line
The result will be a much more integrated Metro network connecting Dubai International Airport, Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Dubai Festival City, Ras Al Khor, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City.
For residents, students and tourists, the biggest benefit will be the ability to reach areas that currently have less direct Metro connectivity.
📌 Final Travel Advice
The Dubai Metro Blue Line is a future Metro line, not a currently operating service.
Its planned 30-kilometre route and 14 stations will connect some of Dubai’s fastest-growing residential, commercial, educational and tourism areas.
The most important locations to remember are:
🔵 Creek – Green Line interchange
🔵 Centrepoint – Red Line interchange
