Sanket Mahadev Sargar – SILVER (Weightlifting, Men’s 55kg class)

A heroic show from the young athlete who ended up hurting his elbow and didn’t hesitate in going for one last attempt at the yellow metal despite blinding pain. Sanket took home silver and the loudest cheer was reserved for him when he climbed up the podium with the crowd acknowledging his gutsy performance. The 21-year-old lifted a total of 241kg to win the silver medal.

Gururaja Poojary – BRONZE (Weightlifting, Men’s 61kg class)

Gururaja won India’s second medal – a bronze – at the CWG 2022. He lifted 269kg to edge past his closest opponent in what turned out to be a thrilling battle for the third place. The Indian lifted 118kg in snatch and 151kg in clean and jerk.

Mirabai Chani – GOLD (Weightlifting, Women’s 49kg class)

Mirabai, the superstar, lived up to the billing as she gave India its first gold of CWG 2022. The Olympic silver medallist set a new event record by lifting a total of 201kg – miles ahead of the second-placed contestant who lifted 172kg. The Indian lifted 88kg in snatch and 113kg in clean and jerk to seal the gold.

Bidyarani Devi – SILVER (Weightlifting, Women’s 55kg class)

Bidyarani is the latest weightlifting star to emerge from Manipur who has now a CWG silver medal to her name. She lifted a total of 202kg to claim the second spot. In snatch, she lifted 86kg and then created a new CWG record with a lift of 116kg in the clean and jerk round which is also her personal best.

Jeremy Lalrinnunga – GOLD (Weightlifting, Men’s 67kg)

The baby-faced Jeremy Lalrinnunga showed immense courage during the men’s 67kg final event. After raising the bar and leading the standings in the snatch round, he ended up hurting his back following the first attempt of clean and jerk round. However, Jeremy gathered himself and pushed for 160kg and made the lift to get to a total of 300kg and thereby setting a new CWG record that got him the gold.

Achinta Sheuli – GOLD (Weightlifting, Men’s 73kg)

West Bengal boy Achinta Sheuli clinched gold in the Men’s 73kg event and with the commonwealth games record as well. He lifted 170kg on his third attempt in clean and jerk to add to his 143kg in snatch for a combined total pf 313kg.

Likmabam Sushila Devi  – SILVER (Judo, Women’s 48 Kg)

Likmabam Sushila Devi, who participated in the Tokyo Olympics last year, won the silver medal in the women’s 48kg category losing to Michaela Whitebool of South Africa in the final in the golden score period via Waza-ari. Sushila, who won a silver medal in women’s 48 kg in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, was in superb form throughout the day first beating Harriet Bonface of Malawi via ippon and then matched Priscilla Morand of Mauritius bagging an Ippon, the highest score possible in a judo match, to seal the victory

Vijay Kumar Yadav – BRONZE (Judo, Men’s 60kg)

Vijay Kumar added India’s second medal in the sport claiming bronze in the men 60 kg category with a win over Cyprus’ Petros Christodoulides via Ippon with a couple of Waza-ari to pin down his opponent. Kumar came through repechage after losing to eventual finalist Joshua Katz of Australia. He beat Dylan Munro of Scotland to make it to the second bronze medal match and showed good range and attacking mindset against the teenager Christodoulides

Harjinder Kaur – BRONZE (Weightlifting, Women’s 71kg)

Harjinder Kaur totalled 212kg to win the bronze medal in women’s 71kg class. After her attempts, Kaur was out of medal contention but a massive miss by gold medal favourite Joy Ogbonne Eze who failed to register any lifts in clean and jerk meant Kaur finished third.

Lawn Bowls – GOLD (women’s fours)

The quartet of Lovely Choubey, Rupa Rani Tirkey, Pinki and Nayanmoni Saikia created history by claiming the country’s first-ever medal in Lawn Bowls after beating South Africa (17-10) in the summit clash.

Table Tennis – GOLD (Men’s Team)

Sharath Kamal Achanta, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Harmeet Desai joined hands and produced collective performances as India claimed second consecutive gold medal in the men’s team competition. They registered a dominating 3-1 win over Singapore.

Vikas Thakur – SILVER (Men’s weightlifting 96kg)

Heavyweight lifter Vikas Thakur added yet another Commonwealth Games medal to his kitty, winning a silver in the men’s 96kg. The seasoned Thakur lifted a total of 346kg (155kg+191kg) to finish second and claim his third CWG medal across three editions.

Mixed Team – SILVER (Badminton)

Indian shuttlers suffered a 1-3 defeat to Malaysia in the mixed team final and settled for a silver medal. It was a heartbreak loss after their dominating run till the final. PV Sindhu was the only shuttler from India who managed to earn a victory in the tie, while India lost the men’s doubles, men’s singles and women’s doubles tie to settle for silver.

Lovepreet Singh – BRONZE (Men’s Weightlifting 109kg)

Lovepreet Singh won India’s ninth medal in weightlifting at the Games. He clinched a bronze in the men’s 109kg category with a combined lift of 355kg. He lifted 163kg in snatch and 192 kg in the clean and jerk round.

Saurav Ghosal – BRONZE (Men’s Singles Squash)

Saurav Ghosal clinched the bronze medal in the men’s singles squash event as he stormed to a 3-0 win over Englishman James Wilstrop. The 35-year-old Kolkata native closed out the bronze medal match 11-6, 11-1, 11-4 in convincing fashion to bag a well-deserved medal in Birmingham.

Tulika Maan – SILVER (Judo, Women’s 78 kg)

Tulika Maan added to India’s medal tally as she earned the silver medal in the women’s 78 Kg Judo event. The 23-year-old Judoka from Delhi came in second best to Sarah Adlington of Scotland by ippon. The Indian started the gold medal match well and was ahead by a waza-ari despite her two shidos, but the Scotswoman turned the fixture on its head with a power move to take home the gold. Maan made her way to the final with strong performances over Tracy Durhone of Mauritius and Sydnee Andrews of New Zealand in the preceding rounds to merit the podium finish.

Gurdeep Singh – BRONZE (Wightlifting, Men’s +109kg)

Gurdeep Singh rounded off India’s weightlifting campaign with a bronze medal in the +109kg event. The-26-year-old Singh, son of a farmer, had a best effort of 390kg (167kg+223kg) for a podium finish and India’s first-ever medal in the heavyweight category.

With his 223kg clean and jerk effort, Singh bettered his personal best and also rewrote his own national record.

Tejaswin Shankar – BRONZE (Atheltics, Men’s High Jump)

Tejaswin Shankar opened the Indian athletics team’s medal account with a bronze in the men’s high jump event. The national record holder cleared 2.22m to finish third in the event. The 23-year-old Shankar, who was added in the squad last-minute on the orders of Delhi High Court, has a season’s best of 2.27m and personal best of 2.29m.

Murali Sreeshankar – SILVER (Athletics, Men’s Long Jump)

Murali Sreeshankar won silver in the men’s long jump with an effort of 8.08m on his fifth attempt to finish second behind Laquan Nairn of Bahamas in a nerve-wrecking men’s long jump final.

Sudhir – GOLD (Para Powerlifting, Men’s Heavyweight)

India’s Sudhir claimed the gold medal in men’s heavyweight para powerlifting event at the Commonwealth Games here on Thursday. Sudhir, an Asian Para Games bronze medallist, lifted 208kg in his first attempt before increasing it to 212kg in his second effort to gather 134.5 points and break the Games record.The 27-year-old Sudhir, who has an impairment due to the effects of polio, thus opened India’s para sports medal account in the ongoing CWG. Ikechukwu Christian Obichukwu won the silver with 133.6 points, while Micky Yule bagged the bronze with 130.9 points.

Sakshi Malik – GOLD (Wrestling, women’s freestyle 62kg)

The 29-year-old Sakshi defeated Ana Godinez Gonzalez of Canada in women’s freestyle 62kg by fall to claim the gold.

Deepak Punia – GOLD (Wrestling, men’s freestyle 86kg)

In a blockbuster finale, India’s Deepak outclassed Pakistan’s Muhammad Inam 3-0 in the 86kg final bout to clinch the gold.

Bajrang Punia – GOLD (Wrestling, men’s freestyle 65kg)

The Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Bajrang thrashed Canada’s Lachlan McNeil 9-2 to defend his title, adding another gold to India’s tally.

Anshu Malik – SILVER (Wrestling, women’s freestyle 57kg)

Anshu lost to defending champion Odunayo Folasade Adekuoroye of Nigeria 7-3 to remain contend with a silver medal.

Divya Kakran – BRONZE (Wrestling, women’s freestyle 68kg)

Divya took home the bronze after beating Tiger Lily Cocker Lemalie of Tonga. It took her just 26 seconds to beat her opponent by fall.

Mohit Grewal – BRONZE (Wrestling, men’s freestyle 125kg)

Mohit Grewal beat Aaron Johnson of Jamaica by fall in the bronze medal match to make it six out of six for Indian wrestlers on the eighth day of the competition.

Ravi Dahiya – GOLD (Wrestling, men’s freestyle 57kg)

Ravi Kumar Dahiya continued his dominant run on the wrestling mat as he won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after beating Nigeria’s Ebikewenimo Welson in the 57kg final bout.

Vinesh Phogat – GOLD (Wrestling, women’s freestyle 53kg)

Ace India wrestler Vinesh Phogat completed the hat-trick of Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games as she outclassed Chanmodya Keshani Maduravalage Don in the Nordic System bout to finish top at the podium in Birmingham.

Naveen Kumar – GOLD (Wrestling, men’s freestyle 74kg)

Wrestler Naveen won the gold medal for India after the win over Pakistan’s Muhammad Sharif Tahir in the 74kg final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Bhavina Patel – GOLD (Para Table Tennis, Women’s Singles C3-5)

The 35-year-old from Gujarat prevailed 12-10 11-2 11-9 over Nigeria’s Ifechukwude Christiana Ikpeoyi to cap off a superb show at the quadrennial event.

Priyanka Goswami – SILVER (Athletics, women’s 10,000m race walking)

India’s Priyanka Goswami shattered a three-year-old national record to clinch the silver medal in the women’s 10,000m race walk at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Priyanka clocked 43:38.82 to claim her podium place.

Avinash Sable – SILVER (Athletics, men’s steeplechase 300m)

The 27-year-old Sable clocked 8:11.20s to better his earlier national record of 8:12.48 and finish behind Kenyan Abraham Kibiwot (8:11.15).

Lawn Bowl  – SILVER (men’s Fours)

Chandan Kumar Singh, Dinesh Kumar, Navneet Singh and Sunil Bahadur picked up a silver medal for India in the men’s fours’ lawn bowl event.

Jaismine – BRONZE (Boxing, women’s lightweight)

Jasmine (60kg), had to be content with bronze as she went down to Gemma Paige Richardson of England via a 2-3 split verdict in the semi-finals of the women’s lightweight category boxing event in Birmingham.

Pooja Gehlot – BRONZE (Wrestling, women’s 50Kg)

Indian wrestler Pooja Gehlot clinched bronze in the Women’s Freestyle 50 kg at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games on Saturday. She beat Christelle Lamofack Letchidjio of Scotland 12-2.

Pooja Sihag – BRONZE (Wrestling, women’s 76Kg)

Pooja Sihag beat her opponent, Naomi De Bruine of Australia, in the bronze medal bout via technical superiority as she raced to a 10-0 lead.

Mohammed Hussamuddin – BRONZE (Boxing, men’s featherweight)

Indian boxer Hussamudin Mohammed bagged a bronze medal for the nation in the men’s featherweight category despite falling in the semi-final to Joseph Gommey of Ghana.

Deepak Nehra – BRONZE (Wrestling, men’s freestyle 97Kg)

Indian wrestler Deepak Nehra picked up the bronze medal in the men’s 97 Kg category as he got the better of Pakistani grappler, Tayab Raza.

Sonalben Patel – BRONZE (Para Table Tennis, women’s singles C3-5)

Sonalben Manubhai Patel also gave India a medal, claiming a bronze in women’s singles class 3-5. The 34-year-old Indian beat England’s Sue Bailey 11-5 11-2 11-3 in the bronze medal play-off.

Rohit Tokas – BRONZE (Boxing, men’s welterweight)

Rohit Tokas clinched bronze despite losing his semifinal bout to Stephen Zimba in the men’s over 63.5kg-67kg event.

Amit Phangal – GOLD (Boxing, men’s flyweight)

India boxer Amit Panghal stormed to CWG 2022 gold after beating Kiaran MacDonald of England 5-0 in the final bout of men’s flyweight class in Birmingham on Sunday.

Nitu Ghangas – GOLD (Boxing, women’s minimum weight)

Boxer Nitu Ganghas on Sunday made a terrific contribution to India’s medal tally in the ongoing Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 in Birmingham. She defeated England’s Demie-Jade Resztan in the women’s 48kg category finals to hand India its first gold medal in boxing in this edition.

Eldhose Paul – GOLD (Athletics, men’s triple jump)

India added a historic first gold medal in men’s triple jump at CWG 2022 with triple jumper Eldhose Paul clinching gold with a massive jump of 17.03m.

Abdulla Aboobacker – SILVER (Athletics, men’s triple jump)

Abdulla Aboobacker claimed silver with a jump of 17.02m to make it an Indian one-two in the men’s triple jump event.

Annu Rani – BRONZE (Athletics, women’s javelin throw)

Indan athlete Annu Rani claimed the bronze medal in Birmingham on Sunday as she sealed a podium finish with her best throw on the day of 60m.

Sandeep Kumar- BRONZE (Athletics, men’s 10,000m race walking)

Sandeep Kumar registered a personal best of 38:49.21 to take home the bronze medal.

Hockey- BRONZE (Women’s team)

Skipper Savita Punia led from the front with a spectacular display as the Indian women’s hockey team overcame the stopwatch controversy to beat New Zealand 2-1 in a shootout and win the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Sunday.

Nikhat Zareen – GOLD (Boxing, women’s light flyweight)

Ace Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen clinched the gold medal in the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games after an emphatic win over Northern Ireland’s Carly McNaul by unanimous decision in the women’s Light Flyweight final bout.

Sharath Kamal, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran – SILVER (Table Tennis, men’s doubles)

Indian table tennis duo of Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran earned a silver medal for the nation in Birmingham as they came in second best to the Engish pairing of Liam Pitchford and Paul Drinkhall.

Saurav Ghosal, Dipika Pallikal- BRONZE (Squash, mixed doubles)

Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal got the better of the Australian duo of Donna Lobban and Cameron Pilley to bag the bronze medal in the squash mixed doubles event with a 2-0 victory as they closed out the fixture 11-8, 11-4.

Srikanth Kidambi – BRONZE (Badminton, men’s singles)

Ace Indian shuttler Srikanth Kidambi picked up the bronze medal in the men’s singles badminton event as he edged out Singapore’s Jia Heng Teh to close out the fixture 2-0 in straight sets 21-15, 21-18.

Cricket – SILVER (Women’s T20)

India got silver after losing to Australia by nine runs in a thriller to win the gold medal in the women’s cricket event. Batting first, Australia scored 161 for 8 in 20 overs with Beth Mooney scoring 61 off 41 balls while Renuka Singh taking 2 for 25.

Sharath Kamal, Sreeja Akula – GOLD (Table Tennis, mixed doubles)

The Indian table tennis pairing of Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula bagged the gold medal in the mixed doubles event as they marched to a 3-1 win over the Malaysian pair of Javen Choong and Karen Lyne 11-4, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6.

Treesa Jolly, Pullela Gopichand Gayatri – BRONZE (Badminton, women’s doubles)

Indian badminton women’s team of Treesa Jolly and Pullela Gayatri Gopichand notched up a 2-0 straight sets victory over Hsuan-Yu Wendy Chen and Gronya Somerville of Australia 21-15, 21-18 to take the bronze medal.

Sagar – SILVER (Boxing, men’s super heavyweight)

Indian pugilist Sagar bagged the CWG silver in the men’s boxing super heavyweight category after he came in second best to England’s Delicious Orie by unanimous decision

PV Sindhu – GOLD (Badminton, women’s singles)

Ace shuttler PV Sindhu was the favourite to win the title and she aced the challenge by beating Canada’s Michelle Li 21-15, 21-13 on the final day of the event to win the gold medal.

Lakshya Sen – GOLD (Badminton, men’s singles)

In his CWG debut, Lakshya Sen put up a memorable display as he bounced back from a game down to beat Ng Tze Yong of Malaysia 19-21, 21-9, 21-16 to win the singles gold.

Sathiyan Gnanasekaran – BRONZE (Table Tennis, men’s singles)

Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won his maiden CWG medal as he defeated local favourite Paul Drinkhall 11-9, 11-3, 11-5, 8-11, 9-11, 10-12 and 11-9 to win the men’s singles bronze.

Achanta Sharath Kamal – GOLD (Table Tennis, men’s singles)

The 40-year-old Achanta Sharath Kamal capped off his memorable campaign with a gold medal as he defeated England’s Liam Pitchford 4-1 in the final. Sharath won 11-13, 11-7, 11-2, 11-6, 11-8.

Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty  – GOLD (Badminton, men’s doubles)

The duo of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made it three out of three gold medals for India in the badminton events on the final day. They defeated the English pair of Ben Lane and Sean Vendy 21-15, 21-13 in straight sets to clinch gold.
