Kuwait City, 30th March, 2021: Partial curfew likely to continue after Ramadan, iiQ8 Country witnessing rise in cases, ICU occupancy and COVID-19 related deaths The head of the COVID-19 Supreme Advisory Committee, Dr. Khaled Al Jarallah, indicated that the partial curfew is likely to continue until the end of Ramadan, local media reported. Al Jarallah pointed out that failure to adhere to health measures across Kuwait has led to an increase in COVID-19 cases throughout the country. Despite the implementation of the curfew a few weeks ago, Kuwait is still witnessing a rise in cases, ICU occupancy and COVID-19 related deaths. The partial curfew, which was implemented back in March 7, is from 6:00pm to 5:00am after the government pushed the curfew hour by one-hour last week. Kuwait City, 22nd March 2021: Kuwait MPs call on government to end partial curfew immediately, iiQ8 Country has been under restriction since March 7 Kuwait City: As two weeks have passed since Kuwait entered a 12-hour partial curfew, several lawmakers have called on the government to end the curfew immediately as it is harming people’s lives and the economy. MP Hasan Jowhar directed a question to the Minister of Health stating, “is it possible that the number of cases are increasing although the partial curfew is in place?” He added, “does the virus only spread at night?” Since March 7, Kuwait enforced a partial curfew starting from 5:00pm to 5:00am daily for a duration of one month. Kuwait City, 22nd March, 2021: Kuwait to start COVID-19 jabs for public workers, iiQ8 Inoculations later this month to target employees of salons, malls and restaurants Kuwait plans to start a large vaccination campaign against COVID-19 later this month for workers in different commercial activities having direct contacts with the general public, local media reported. As part of the drive, the Health Ministry will coordinate with the Information Ministry to inoculate all employees in government and private media institutions. The date of the inoculation commencement will be set in the coming few days, with the likely start to be later this month or early next month, well-informed sources said.
