MOI clarifies requirements for expat's driving license in Q8, iiq8 news Wednesday, July 10, 2019 Department of Public Relations and Security Media in Ministry of Interior has launched a new initiative to clarify the rules for expatriates, and non-Kuwaiti and Bedoun husbands of Kuwaiti women to obtain driving licenses. Citing Al-Anba daily, local newspaper Arab Times reported that this awareness initiative is in order to limit the repeated questions on this matter and avoid responding to them over and over again. As per ministerial decree No. 5598/2014, non-Kuwaiti applicants can obtain a private or public driving license provided that they have legally stayed in the country for at least two years, obtain a monthly salary not less than KD 600, and have a university degree. NRIs to get Aadhaar card without waiting for 180 days Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) having Indian passports can now get Aadhaar card without waiting for 180 days, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Friday. As of now, the NRIs get Aadhaar card after staying in India for a minimum of 180 days. "I propose to consider issuing Aadhaar card for NRIs with Indian passports after their arrival in India without waiting for 180 days," Sitharaman told Parliament while presenting the Budget 2019. According to the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, an NRI who has resided in India for 182 days or more in 12 months and with an Indian address could apply for Aadhaar. However, as per the Aadhaar Act, NRIs are fully exempt from producing Aadhaar for any verification. According to local media report, PACI continues to provide its electronic services for the Latin name whether checking it before printing the civil ID card or after it has been corrected but will not make the corrections as it was done before.
