Kuwait to reopen Buffets, Laundries, iiQ8
COVID-19: Buffets in Kuwait allowed to reopen but with strict health and safety measures
Laundries also allowed to operate after 8pm as coronavirus restrictions ease
Buffets at restaurants and hotels in Kuwait will be permitted, provided they adhere to physical spacing and health requirements, set by the Health Conditions Committee, Al Qabas daily reported.
The committee also decided to allow laundries to operate after 8pm. However, they are not allowed to open doors or receive customers inside, they can rather perform their duties to prepare clothes and deliver them to their owners the next day. The committee also ended the halt to activities in sports stadiums in investment areas.
Over the past few weeks, Kuwait has been report an upward trend in the daily COVID-19 cases where it has so far reported more than 175,031 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 985 deaths and 163,895 recoveries…

COVID-19: Kuwait hotels propose price list for institutional quarantine
5 star hotels suggest fee of KD270 for single room and 10KD for each meal
Kuwait City: After the Kuwaiti government announced that all travellers arriving in Kuwait on February 21 onwards will need to quarantine in a hotel for the first seven-days at their own expense, hotels have submitted a proposed price list to the authorities. The proposed price list suggests that each tier of hotels have a set price as follows: First tier (5 star hotels) single room KD270 and double KD330 with each meal costing 10KD, second tier (4 star hotels) single room KD180 and double KD240 with each meal costing KD8 and finally third tier (3 star hotels) single room KD120 and double KD180 with each meal costing KD6.
The decision is yet to go into effect as the authorities are still reviewing the proposal.

Kuwait shortens Friday sermon at Masjids, iiQ8
Set at maximum of 15 minutes to limit coronavirus spread
Kuwait’s religious authorities have curtailed the duration of the Friday sermon and prayers as the country is endeavouring to limit the spread of the coronavirus, a local newspaper reported today.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf has set the maximum of the sermon and the weekly congregation prayers at 15 minutes to protect the worshippers, Al Anba newspaper quoted an official as saying.
Head of the Awqaf’s Technical Affairs Directorate Badr Al Deifiri added that the ministry has issued a circular to mosque imams and preachers about importance of abiding by the set timing and the worshippers’ observance of health directives inside mosques.
The circular also urges preachers to include in Friday sermons pleas to Allah Almighty to end the pandemic, he added.

Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced Thursday the launch of five additional COVID-19 vaccination
centers, bringing the total number to 15 centers, addition two halls at Kuwait International Fairs
Ground in Mishref Area.
The new vaccination locations are located in South Khaitan Health Center in the Farwaniya Health
District, the Abdulrahman Al-Zaid Health Center in the Hawally Health District, the Northwest

Majority of coronavirus cases are amongst 16-44 age group, iiQ8
COVID-19: 61% of positive cases are Kuwaitis
The spokesman for Kuwait’s Ministry of Health, Dr Abdullah Al Sanad, revealed that 61 per cent of those infected with COVID-19 throughout the month of January were Kuwaitis.
While the Ministry has held a weekly press conference since the start of the pandemic, due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, Al Sanad announced it will be holding a press conference daily at 7pm (8pm UAE time) to keep the public informed. On Tuesday, Kuwait recorded 1,002 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths, making it one of the highest number of positive cases and deaths registered in a single day since the start of the pandemic.
Given the steep increase in cases, Kuwait has enforced several new measures from banning non-Kuwaitis from travelling to Kuwait for two weeks to closing down saloons and gyms for a month. In addition, the government is considering…
